What Does It Mean Being a Rainmaker in Activerain

It was an early evening of Saturday, March 21st; I visited my Activerain blog to make some updates or see how things are going in the community.

To my surprise, I saw that badge posted closer to my profile pic which says: "ACTIVERAIN RAINMAKER". "Wow", I said to myself; and went on: "Did I just earn that thingy from being a part of this community? Isn't that wonderful?

I've been in Activerain (AR) since 2006. From that point on, the blog I've initiated has been a part of my career as a real estate professional. Not only that my clients, or web visitors acknowledge my presence on the internet, but they appreciate the fact that there is that kind of community where you see those people in the industry connect, if not share ideas on certain topics. Not only that do they see real estate practitioners from Greater Vancouver, BC but the rest of Canada and the US.

In whatever way we contribute to this community; we help build a growing network or bring in some traffic to the site, I could say that AR is a very useful tool for both the Pro and the Newbie.

What more could I say?

"Well, Activerain, you make my day!"

More power...

Heads up for Canadian Immigrants

Learning to speak Canada's official language would be critical criteria for acquiring citizenship.

On an immigration conference held in Calgary, Federal Immigration Minister Jason Kenney has emphasized the need for immigrants to make efforts to integrate a working knowledge of Canada's official language.

Immigrants in Canada should be able to communicate in either English or French.

Looking at the Mid-week, A Day in the Life of a Multitasker

Looking at the Mid-week, A Day in the Life of a Multitasker

Oh my mind is so full of ideas. I woke up this morning much earlier than I should: 4:50 am. What day is it? Wow, it's Wednesday, March 18th. How time goes... I couldn't complain; I just noticed, the night went by so fast...

Okay, time for coffee, I thought. Well, there... got my cup of coffee, hmm... some kind of kick to get me started for the day. I wonder how my day would be like, without it.

Afterwards, I will have to review my things-to-do list. Well, it would be an interesting mid-week for me. I remember I have some things to work on for my clients. Not only that I will be looking up some property listings but I will also be busy with pre-approval of mortgages for first-time buyers.

In the next few while, I'll be working on my writing stuff. I have some topics that have been lingering through my mind, which I will feature in my blogs later, particularly here on Activerain.

Not to mention the fact that I am also busy promoting my published work: "YOU ARE PRIVILEGED" book. Then, of course I have another book coming out soon. Lastly, did I mention social networking? So there I go with multitasking.

With that in mind, I am wishing everyone a pleasant day; and that you had a great time, yesterday, in commemoration of St. Patrick's Day.

First-time Buyers making up the BC Homebuyers Pie

First-time Buyers making up the BC Homebuyers Pie

Although there are many variables one look into this day and age of recession, as far as home buying is concerned, it seems that first-time buyers make up the BC homebuyers pie.

The rise in that segment is indeed noticeable. Some of the factors that new buyers put into account are the following:

• $750 tax credit back on closing costs

• maximum of $25, 000 RRSP can be used for down payment, payable in 15 years

• lower prices on homes: apartments, condominiums, townhouses and detached houses

• lowest mortgage interest rates possible

As has always been advised, homebuyers who could be confident about their finances, savings and investments are best to look at the opportunity when all the advantages are presented to them.

If you are a first-time buyer and would like to find out your best options on home buying, please feel free to contact me by email.
