Best hot dog in Placer County!

Sandy Schweiger: Real Estate Agent in Auburn, CA

Long Horn Meat

Yep I said it the BEST! Somthing you have to understand my parents first date was at Casper's hot dogs in Sothern California and that meant something to our family. Now we don't wake up thinking about hot dogs but it is something of a happy place when I see the leaves on the trees turn and the cold air seems to take over our senses there is nothing better than a hot dog with sour crout and mustard. Ya I know the breath that fallows a dog like that is truly an occupational hazard for a Realtor but worth it.

Stacy Julian from Long Horn gave me my first hot dog from Long Horn Meat Company and it had just the right amount of snap with the perfect balance of flavor showing the 25 + years in the meat business. You see Long Horn has made quite a name for themselves giving our little town of Auburn the opportunity to have fresh cut meat from local ranchers. The owner Dan Catenhorn has lived in our area for over 30 years and has some of the most interesting stories you have ever heard about our little town let alone Placer County. Long horn was catering a small event here in town.

So stop by and take a look the caricature of the place is on the wall. I know I didnt' take a picture of my hot dog. Next time : )

For those that don't know our lovely town of Auburn was the location for Phenomenon starring John Travolta and showcasing our lovely Old Town Auburn. This is a nice opportunity for the current locals that not only worked on the set it gives some of the extras the chance to talk about what it was like. So come down and spend an evening at the movies.

What a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Sitting an open house in a home that is over 6000 square feet in Winchester, Meadow Vista Ca. Great folks stopped by. Each with their own reasons. Each has their own dreams and that is where I come in. Helping them achieve their dreams. Asking probing questions, listening to the answers helps them find their 5, 6 and 7s. If you are thinking about buying or selling let me help you discover your 5,6 and 7s. It is about you and your family not me. That is what makes my services so valuable. Helping others...Serving YOU and the COMMUNITY.

A lesson of determination at the fair

We went to the Auburn Fairs annual smash up derby on Sunday and I have to say it was a very learning experience. Ok; I know what you're thinking Sandy how much can you learn from watching cars smash into one another? Well let me explain If you where there then you notice the two cars that stood out the most that was the pink car (I love whenever a man can claim pink as his color) and the green car (looking slightly 80's to me)

they were truly the shiniest cars out there, and everyone kept saying the same thing they are going target those cars. They being the pictures looking derby cars that looked like they were born in a Steven King novel and rose from some junk yard in just to do this not as a job but as a passion.
(Yes I'm still talking about the cars)

The crowd was staring at every hit as if it was a test of strength yet still judging them for their first impression as shiny and weak not giving them the respect that they did to the before mentioned typical derby cars. Well soon it became visible the derby took the shiny out of them and they were just running on skill and determination, that's when I took the below picture and will always remember that day as the day shiny didn't give up. Just because they dared to enter the ring with a wax job or even just clean that doesn't mean they where not ready to take the punches so when you feel like your out matched by something typically tuff just remember they are in there for the same fight and it's all about how hard you try till the end.
