Attention Paradise and Butte County Real Estate Owners - Super Tuesday is Quickly Approaching!!

Lynn Franklin: Real Estate Agent in Paradise, CA

As Super Tuesday approaches I thought it may be helpful to let all of my fellow residents here in Paradise and Butte County know about a great document that can tell you where your voting location is by community and precinct. This document is great if you are a new home owner here in Paradise and Butte County or if you are just not sure where your precinct voting location is. If you are not sure what voting precinct you are in, you can likely find the information on your Butte County community website or by calling the local town clerk. As so many of you already know, it is incredibly important to vote in both national and local elections. It is unfortunate that so many people neglect the local elections as many of the items being decided have great impact on our community. This ultimately can affect the value of our homes. The better community we live in, the greater the home value. So next time a local or national election is coming up, please remember that the decisions being made, may ultimately affect the value of your Paradise and Butte County real estate investment.

Paradise Real Estate Owners, Taking The Time to Volunteer

Lynn Franklin: Real Estate Agent in Paradise, CA

I know how busy life can be, but I wanted to bring a bit of attention to some great volunteering opportunities here in Paradise. It was brought to my attention that Feather River Hospital on Pentz Road in Paradise is always looking for volunteers in a variety of different areas. This opportunity to volunteer not only can enrich the lives of other Paradise residents who may be in need, but also provides the opportunity for the person volunteering to learn new skills, develop a deeper sense of self confidence, investigate potential career opportunities, and make new friends and business contacts. It may also be a great idea to get your whole family to volunteer together here in Paradise. This will add some great family time to your week! I have been selling real estate in Paradise for more than 20 years and I think Paradise is a great place to live and work. Our wonderful residents make this community the special place that it is and are the reason that we continue to prosper. For more information on opportunities at Feather River Hospital or other Paradise volunteer opportunities, I would encourage you to take a look at Volunteer Match. Thank You!!!

And The Snow Keeps Falling Canceling the Neighborhood Public Workshop Meeting

Lynn Franklin: Real Estate Agent in Paradise, CA

We are in the midst of another snow storm here in Paradise this winter season and the conditions are pretty bad on some of our local roads. The conditions are so bad in some parts of town that they have had to close the roads from Skyway to Oak Way. Town officials are urging everyone to stay off the roads if at all possible. This caused last evenings Public Workshop Meeting to be canceled. This meeting was intended to bring all interested and affected parties together to discuss the proposed draft of future plans to develop the Southeast Paradise Area. Once rescheduled, this is a meeting I would encourage all Paradise homeowners and citizens to attend. As our community grows and changes, the decisions revolving around land development and land conservation here in Paradise will impact our town’s appearance and future real estate values. So please stay tuned for the rescheduled date and take a look at our Paradise home site for more information. Stay Safe and Warm during this winter storm!!!

Prepare Now Before the Next Storm covers Paradise With White

Before the Next Storm covers Paradise Ca with white, prepare your family and home

Prepare for possible isolation in your home by having sufficient supply of dry, seasoned wood for your fireplace or wood-burning stove as regular fuel sources may be off. Winterize your Paradise Ca home by caulking windows, insulating attics and walls and making sure doors seal tightly. Clean rain gutters; repair roof leaks and cut away tree branches that could fall during a storm.

Insulate pipes with insulation or newspapers and plastic and allow faucets to drip a little during cold weather to avoid freezing. Keep fire extinguishers on hand, and make sure everyone in your house knows how to use them. House fires pose an additional risk, as more people turn to alternate heating sources without taking the necessary safety precautions.

Learn to shut off water In case a pipe bursts. Know ahead of time How you can help elderly, disabled friends or neighbors. When the power gets cut off because of downed trees or telephone pole that may snap under the heavy snow conditions, its good to check on your neighbors especially in a small upper mountain town like Paradise.

If your my neighbor, I would be checking on you.

Paradise Weekly Real Estate Update

Lynn Franklin: Real Estate Agent in Paradise, CA

There was a great deal of excitement in Paradise this past week as the 30 year fixed mortgage rates again took a drop. They are currently 5.69 for 30 year mortgages, with the 15-year fixed rates being even more desirable. The Paradise area mortgage rates haven't been this low for about 2 years, which brings some obvious excitement to this slower paced Paradise Real Estate market. Paradise had 32 price reductions over the past week; this was likely in part a result of sellers trying to get their homes noticed in the midst of all the mortgage rate decreases. The Paradise manufactured home inventory and those homes under $250,000 are still moving quicker than all other types of properties in Paradise with approximately 24% of the inventory going under agreement this past week. Paradise homes listed over $450,000, as well as the Paradise land inventory, are still moving at very slow rates with less than 10% of the homes going under contract and less than 5% of the land going under contract. With increased amounts of inventory and incredible mortgage rate opportunities, there is no question that this is a great time to enter into Paradise home ownership.
