Whether you live in Cupertino, San Jose, Santa Clara, Sunnyvale or Los Altos, your property's value benefits from being in the Fremont Union High School District (commonly referred to as "Cupertino Schools"). http://www.fuhsd.org

Today, Measure G is on the ballot. Below is a synopsis of the proposal. Basically, it is an extension of the existing parcel tax at the same amount of $98, which is set to expire, as well as an annual adjustment for inflation. The measure exempts homeowners who are seniors and/or disabled. Please remember to exercise your right to vote today!

NOVEMBER 3, 2009: MEASURE G
To provide stable, local funds needed to protect teaching positions, and assure that Cupertino, Fremont, Homestead, Lynbrook, and Monta Vista High School students are prepared to successfully compete for college admission, shall the Fremont Union High School District replace its existing, expiring parcel tax with a tax at the same annual rate of $98 per parcel to be adjusted annually for inflation, with all funds benefitting local high schools, and offering an exemption to seniors and the disabled?

According to information for the 2007-2008 Fiscal Year from the California Dept of Education, following is some basic information on district funding dollars per student as compared to all of California as well as other nearby districts with high-performing academic scores.

Saratoga is an exceptionally desirable enclave of Santa Clara County. The town of Saratoga strives to balance a blend of artistic sensibilities with understated elegance. Overall, Saratoga primarily features large comfortable homes of 2000 to 4000 sf on spacious, usually 10,000-sf minimum-sized lots. Homes are nestled on cohesive neighborhoods of wide streets and meticulously maintained yards--these neighborhoods look like the Northern California lifestyle most people dream of.

Saratoga Avenue leads from San Jose at Highway 85, and changes name to Big Basin Way as it meanders through Downtown Saratoga (and becomes Saratoga-Los Gatos Road as you travel towards Los Gatos). Saratoga Village features an abundance of charm, from Corinthian Antiques to the Plumed Horse and La Fondue Restaurants. Big Basin Way becomes Highway 9, which leads to Paul Masson Mountain Winery, Saratoga Springs and Sanborn Park.

West Valley Community College, arguably one of the loveliest natural community college campuses, is located across the road from the Saratoga Post Office, City Offices and Library.Villa Montalvo, located on the estate of former California Governor Phelan, is home to fabulous walking trails, museum and numerous artist in residence programs. Montalvo also hosts a wide variety of musical artists in a variety of intimate venues.
