When Vegas Bob was on his trip in Northern California visiting the "Redwood Trees" he came across these rocks stacked around the river.
I have seen these rocks stacked like this around many hiking trails I hike along marking certain areas so hikers can find their way back on the right trail.
Now these rocks stacked by this river bed and in the water along the "Van Duzen" river are just plain weird. VB didn't put these rocks there so he was wondering who did?
There wasn't a person within miles of this river ...

When Vegas Bob was a teenager and lived in Portland Oregon many moons ago, he use to travel up and down the Oregon & California Coastline. Ever year VB would spend about one month hiking in the Redwoods, playing alone the beaches, etc. Most of VB's travels were done by himself because his family lived back in Minnesota around 2000 miles away.
One of VB's favorite towns was Orick California, right in the middle of one of the HUGEST Redwood National Parks in the World. Back when VB traveled through Orick, there was no Redwood National Park and workers use to cut these HUGE Redwood Trees down for a living, "Times changed" and now these trees are protected by the Federal Government.
The little town of Orick has a population of about 100 people, and hasn't really changed much in the last 30 years. Here are two photographs that I took several weeks ago on my last visit to Orick California, the photo at the top is a lagoon by the beach & the photo below is of the beach in Orick. Notice the FOG in both photos, Orick is aways like this because the Redwood Trees produce their own moisture to survive and there are hundreds of thousands of Redwood Trees surrounding Orick California.

Vegas Bob would like to wish everyone a "Good Night" from the Redwoods in northern California.
It's a little foggy tonight from the moisture of the Redwoods, and a little spooky. Have a wonderful weekend everyone and if your not working, enjoy your time with your families!

Founders Tree is located in Founders Grove along the Avenue of Giants in Northern California and is one of the bigger Redwood Trees, but not the biggest.
Founders Tree was very difficult for Vegas Bob to photograph because of it's height, but I did in the photo (below) these paragraphs. If you look real close you can see this sign in the photo above and below at the bottom of the photo. VB had to use a (wide-angle) lens that is borderline fish-eye if you know about camera lenes. I also had to turn my camera around vertically in order to fit the whole tree in the frame.
Many of these Redwood Trees that I viewed for 3 days are so HUGE that a person has to have special lens on their camera or step back so far that the trees look small. Here are the bottoms of some other Redwoods with a person standing by them.
VB will be sharing more photos of the Redwoods I viewed on my trip and some very interesting stats on how HUGE and fascinating these "Living Creatures" are. I will also be sharing some video of these GIANTS next week.
