The highest listing in Milford in September 2008 was 76 Point Lookout - a 7000 sq.ft. Colonial built in 2008 with 13 Rooms, 5 Bedrooms and 5.1 Baths. This home is located in prime area with water views .

The highest priced home sold in September was 98 Old Field which was listed in February 2008 for $1,275,000 ,repositioned on May 30th to $1,199,900; on deposit on July 26^th and closed for $1,115,000 on September 17^th bringing its total Days on Market to 159.

DOM (Days on Market) has seen a slight increase- from an average of 77 Days in September 2007 to an average of 78 days in 2008.

The Average Sale Price in September 2008 has come down approximately< 1%from this time last year while the number of homes has seen a slight increase.

The Average Listing Price in May 2008 has come down approximately 7.2% since this time last year.

According to THE COMMERCIAL RECORD: Milford has seen a 32.79 %drop in the number of sales but no change in the Median Sales Price as compared to 2007

There is currently 6 months of inventory on the market based on the current absorption rate

For the 3rd year in a row Milford Connecticut has been named one of the nations top 100 Best Communities for Young People to live. In Wednesday's New Haven Register, Milford's Mayor James L. Richetelli Jr. said Milford was specifically cited for reducing its drop out rate.

According to the website Americas Promise Alliance in America a student drops out of High School every 26 seconds. Milford's drop out rate is about 4% compared to the National average which is in the double digits. Click here for a map of the top 100 cities.

Milford has partnered with The International Brotherhood of Teamsters/Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation School-to-Work Mentoring Program in Stratford in an effort to keep at risk students in school and reduce the drop out rate. In turn Sikorsky will be able to fill future jobs with skilled and knowledgeble manufacturing employees.
