Masons Island is the island you have dreamed of - picturesque and unspoiled - preserved for the recreation and enjoyment of those who love nature and wish to dwell comfortably and conveniently amid beautiful surroundings. The natural contour of Masons Island along with its sweeping views of two great bodies of water, superior dockage capabilities, 47 acre nature preserve and rich history make this destination unequalled for the quintessential summer home or year-round resident.
Those who are familiar with the island's unique beauty can understand why the Masons Island Company has long protected one of Connecticut's natural gems from overdevelopment. The Allyn family, who has now lived and owned property on the island for five generations founded the Masons Island Company in 1912, enables them to shape the direction of the island's future - preserving the integrity and intrinsic value of the islands landscape.

The Mason Homestead Subdivision is an exclusive eleven home Nantucket-inspired development project that goal is to enhance the islands present purity while assuring a solid future and continuity. Currently four of the eleven lots have been sold and three have constructed custom homes lead by Tier One Development.
Located on the southern side of Masons Island, the Mason Homestead Subdivision is part of a gated community providing open space, private roads, walking trails, beaches and private dockage. Property values are maintained by deed restrictions on any land purchased from Masons Island Company and any new development has to pass an Architectural Review Committee.
As an added bonus, residences of the new Mason Homestead Subdivision are invited to apply for membership to the private Masons Island Yacht Club. The Yacht Club provides facilities and instruction for sailing and small boat racing, swimming, tennis and bocce. There are also extensive social programs and several regattas throughout the year.
Equally concerned with the heritage and enduring quality of life on Mason's Island is Peter A. Giordano Jr. of Tier One Development. Experienced in custom home development, the Mystic-based builder has earned rave reviews from upscale clients and has been chosen to develop all sold lots in the Mason Homestead Subdivision date.
"Mason's Island has always been a special community," said Mr. Giordano in a recent interview. "We feel a sense of responsibility not only to its past, but to preserving and affirming its present and future." Tier One has evolved a unique approach t homebuilding that emphasizes collaboration with each individual client and a larger sense of each neighborhood's identity. "Our customers have very high standards."

A day for Veterans at S&P Oyster Co. in Mystic, CT
It is my pleasure to write about such a wonderful and well thought out event. I was talking to one of the owner's of S&P Oyster Company, Cathleen Holland, yesterday and if her level of enthusiasm for this event is a precursor, the event will be a GREAT success. I couldn't help but feel that this event needed any bit of exposure I could add...so here we are. The S&P Oyster Company Veteran & Troop Rally in Mystic, CT is being held on 11/11/10 from 11:30a-10:00p. The restaurant will be donating 20% of sales for the day to support the Connecticut Department of Veteran Affairs, Give2TheTroops.org and Veteran Honor Flights. In addition to providing funds to these great charities, S& P Oyster Co. and Veteran Honor Flights are committed to sending four local veterans of World War II to the National World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C. One of the best parts about this event is that all we have to do is show up and eat some of the best food in the state! I will look forward to seeing you there.

"Taste of Mystic" a great activity for the Mystic, CT community!

One of the "can't miss" event's of the year in the Mystic area. The "Taste of Mystic"is a gastronomical delight. Over thirty local restaurants come out for the weekend to provide us with an amazing variety of their delectable offerings. If you like food you will like this event! I have been attending for as long as I can remember and have many fond memories of wandering down the street with awe at all of the options. From pizza and burgers to fresh local seafood and a very diverse variety between. Two of the largest casino's in the world and many other attractions have brought the level of food available in the area to an amazing level.
This weekend long event is a great burst of activity to the community that is starting to slow down for the fall and winter seasons. It marks the end of summer and a slight slowing of the outdoor activities in the greater Mystic area, we will go over some of the great events occurring in the "off-season" in future blog posts. The hours the event is open are as follow Friday 9/10/10 5p-9:30p Saturday 9/11/10 11a-9:30p and Sunday 9/12/10 11:00a-5:00p. The event is sponsored by a collection of local companies.
In addition to the delicious food offerings there is a beer and wine tent for visitors over the age of twenty one. Yet another draw will be the live music and entertainment. Including "the Cartells" and "High Times" the music and entertainment are a great free activity!
Come prepared to experiment with new flavors and dishes or for your favorite tastes. Come to hear great music and see interesting entertainment. Come to have a fun time with your friends and family. Come join me in my neck of the woods fro this great event. Truly the "Taste of Mystic" is a great activity for the Mystic, CT community.

Hi All,
I need your help! Help me pick a phone. Okay, so I hate to admit this but here we go... I have an old phone! I haven't upgraded in quite a while(3yrs.), I think it is about time!
I am a Verizon customer and I am happy with the service, so I have limited my search to those available on their network. I am leaning towards a Andriod, the HTC Incredible, Motorola Droid X, or Droid 2. All will cost about the same amount.
Do any of you have one of these phones? If so how do you like it, what are the pros and cons?
I really appreciate an input / feedback you can offer. Thanks in advance!
