This is creating a whole new market for developers and suppliers of home building products. Boomers want and are willing to pay for conveniences, such as touch activated controls for home systems and luxury bathrooms. This generation is not afraid to make its voice heard and for those who pay attention this could be a beautiful thing.

The Town of Orange CT in October of 2006 performed a revaluation on property assessments, which will be phased in over the next 5 years. If you are interested in calculating the difference on your current home or on one you are interested in purchasing in the town of Orange the formula is as follows;
Example: 2006 assessment = 238,400
2005 assessment = 138,000
238,400 - 138,000 = 100,400
100,400/5 = 20,080
20,080 + 138,000 = 158,080
158,080 x .0299 = $4,726.60

The garden Club in Orange CT presents "Proper Pruning Techniques" by Master Gardener Kevin Wasilewski, at the Case Memorial Library at 1:00pm. A luncheon will be served at 11:30 followed by the clubs business. Members of the club will exhibit forced branches and bulbs and potted plants.
I will put this date on my calendar as I have ordered 34 Apple trees for this spring from Adams County Nursery in Pennsylvania as well as Cherry Trees, Peach, Prune and Apricot. Let's just hope they survive the deer in the yard let alone my pruning technique. From Nourse Farm in Massachusetts I have ordered Blueberry bushes, raspberry and blackberry and black raspberries, and I'm hoping if I plant enough the birds will save some for me.
