It is that time of the year, for crafts and bake sales. This weekend is no exception for the in Portland, CT. They are holding the "Craft and Bake Sale", this Saturday, November 15th from 9am TO 2pm.

There will be hand crafted, a tea cup auction (which is always fun), and I'm sure lots of tasty baked cooks. You can even cut your own Christmas Tree. I just wonder if it is a little early for that.. maybe you can just tag them for now. So, if you are in the Portland area tomorrow.. stop by and pick up some goodies.

I love to see people mentioning "Christmas" again.. that is the way I feel it should be. Everyone should be able to celebrate the way they wish... not the generic "Happy Holidays".

Overall sales are down by 12.5%. Average sale prices are up by 1.3%, but median sale prices are down by 1.2 %. Again Portland seems to be holding its own with no major changes in prices.

I was going through Portland, CT yesterday afternoon on the way to showing a home, when I went through the center of town to see a banner going across the street. Guess what time it is? It is the annual "Portland Brownstone (for the brownstone buildings in town) Festival". I believe it to be the 4^th annual. This is when the town celebrates all the people who reside in it and the town itself. It is being held on the green at Trinity Church, the Riverfront Park and other buildings in town, this Saturday, September 13^th, today!. There will be a pancake breakfast at the senior center, hayrides, Arts n' Crafts, music, art show and much more. The best part is that it is FREE.. and for the whole family.

It is always fun to learn about another town, so if you are in the area, stop by and enjoy.

Portland High School (PHS) Girls Soccer will have an Alumni Night, Sat Aug 16 at 7pm at the PHS varsity field, 95 High St, Portland, CT. The game will be a night exhibition game (played under the lights) between the 2008 varsity team and PHS alumni. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children/students. You can take $1 off admission if you wear a Portland soccer jersey or if you are a PHS alumnus.
