It has a population around 13,000 residents with just under 4 miles of area. Gulfport has a large number of artist living in the city. Every first Friday of the month the city has an "Art Walk" in the evening. The craft and art stores also stay open to support the evening. Refreshments are also available. The city also has a free trolley that runs throughout the city and stops at clubs, restaurants and other points of interest.

Gulfport Artwalk takes place today, Friday, February 1st from 6-10 pm in Gulfport! It is a wonderful way to spend a Friday evening either by yourself or with a friend of the entire family! There is always wonderful live music to enjoy at this event and there are trolley rides.

The Galleries and shops that are open give you a taste of the local art scene. There are fantastic pieces of art and sculpture that you can add to your collection and when all is said and done, you can take a leisurely stroll down to the beach and have a drink in one of the local watering holes!

Gulfport Casino - Wednesday is swing night and not just this week! EVERY Wednesday night is swing night and this has been going on for the last 10 years! It is one of the biggest locations in the state if you enjoy swing dancing! This is such a big thing that hundreds of dancers participate in the casino's Wednesday night dances!

Not really good at swing dancing? Classes are offered at the casino from 7-8pm on Wednesdays and then the swing dance evening kicks off at 8pm and goes until midnight! There is a $7. admission charge, but parking is free. There is a full bar and the casino is absolutely beautiful!!!!
