As a real estate agent, you probably have home inspectors, loan officers and bankers that you work with regularly. But who helps you with your marketing? Having a plan on how to market your business and people who can assist you is one way to differentiate yourself in the marketplace.

Here are some tips on how to market your business:

Make a plan. Know how much advertising you want to do and where you want to advertise and then stick with it. After a few months, you'll know what needs to be adjusted or changed.
Join a networking organization. When you become a member of networking organizations as a real estate agent, you have the ability to access other resources that you might normally not find. Whether you need a contractor for home repairs for your clients or a web designer to update your Internet presence, being involved in a networking organization is a key part of becoming a top real estate agent. Build a promotional team. When you want to build your business, you'll discover that you simply don't have time to take care of your clients AND do your marketing. When it comes to pricing in the local real estate market. I have to say that virtually everyone I talk to is not. Everyone believes the market is heading south, still. To the point that I'm afraid to answer the question as it raises some doubt with regard to perceived motivations in line with the reply. Or, people just don't want to hear the news because they are now in the market as a buyer. Everyone wants to sell high and buy low. Me too. The reality is, the market is what the market is.

While preparing a January 2012 market update that I usually do, I plotted some interesting data. I usually run trend reports over a four year period to see the "big picture." Just for fun, I reset the timeframe and plotted all the data I have accumulated.

So, without answering the question I'm always asked look at the data below and you decide.
