CafeMom ~ School Groups

Jeannette Neerpat, e-Pro Coral Springs/Parkland Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Coral Springs, FL

cafemomAre you looking to stay connected with other moms from your child's class or even the other moms from the school? If so Cafemom has come up with a great idea. Create groups for the school itself.

I know that there are moms that can not attend PTA meetings, but want to know what is going on. ARe there concerns you want to address? Have an event going on for the school? Is there a change in the schedule? How about the sports meets, or band practices?

This is the perfect place to ask and answer any of these questions. I became the group owner for my daughters school, Tamarac Elementary. So if there are any moms that are looking for something like this, why not go the cafemom.com and look to see if your school is listed, does it have an owner, if not see if you can become the owner of the group.

If you manage to get at least 20 members to your group by September 30, Cafemom will give the school $100 to do with whatever you wish. Its not alot but its something. And at least they are taking an interest to what we desire the most, our childrens education.

My daughter's First day of School

Jeannette Neerpat, e-Pro Coral Springs/Parkland Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Coral Springs, FL

1st day of SchoolYesterday was my daughters first day of school. It started 2 days late on account of Tropical Storm Fay. She was all excited and could barely sleep last night. We live very close to the school, walking distance, Tamarac Elementary. So we walked, the police stopped traffic in order for us to cross the school. We are the only family in my community with kids as youngs as mine are, so no other kids were coming out. She thought she was so special that the polic officer stopped it just for her!

So we go and walk the school looking to where we go. We sit in the cafeteria waiting till her teacher comes and walks them to class. She wanted to walk with her, but they don't allow that there. This is when she realizes that things are different then her other school she went to last year. I told her things would be ok. I wanted to cry but held it back, didn't want to make her upset and start to cry.

I wasn't able to pick her up from school since I had a pack day. So when I got home she sat next to me and told me everything about her day. How the teacher doesn't know that she already knows her ABC's. I tried to explain that she will go over stuff that she alreadys knows, you can't learn too much of something, right?

So today is day 2. We will see how things go!

So I am taking a mini vacation for a few days in Marco Island. The kids are loving it here. Having fun on the beach, watching the sun go down. Visited the Naples Zoo, got to watch the tigers fed, alligators up close and more.

Figured now would be the best time, school starts on Monday and won't be able to take another break till Christmas. Here are a few shots from there.

Sunset on the GulfI love this shot, you can see how beautiful the clouds are.
