Lagrange, GA

Kia announced their site selection back in 2006. Groundbreaking started this last year and now the plant is accepting applications for employment. They are set to open in 2009.

Not to far from Atlanta will be the home of the new Kia Motor Plant. Located in West Point, Georgia this plant will offer new jobs and an influx of people means a boon for the local economy.

With all the local shops in Lagrange, the mall, eateries galore, this is an exciting time in Troup County history.

West Point, Georgia is a beautiful area when the water tables are up. The lake, close access to downtown Atlanta, local attractions and a great school system make this a superb choice for the new plant.

Troup County is located about 50 minutes south of Atlanta, GA. If you are thinking of moving to the area you will find that the three cities of Lagrange which is the county seat, Hogansville, and West Point offer a plethora of businesses, entertainment, and recreation. Home choices in all price ranges and types also abound.

Hogansville is full of history and offers many events during the year including the Hummingbird Festival, Trunk or Treat, and a Christmas Parade.

Lagrange College which has been named in USA Today as one of the best is located in the heart of Lagrange.

West Point Lake is located just a little to the south and west of Lagrange. With the recent drought the water tables are down considerably but this area of Troup County offers a wide variety of water recreation as well as camping, hiking, and dining delights.

While they are still in the building phase, Kia Auto Motors is opening their doors in early 2009. They have already started taking applications for employment. There is also a multitude of other well known companies that offer employment.
