If you live on Lake Sinclair it's always an adventure to take the boat to dinner. Jackson's on Lake Sinclair is the place to go for that. If you arrive to the dock by boat they will take you across the parking lot in a golf cart.
There's wonderful dining on the porch that is nice this time of year. Live entertainment in the bar on Friday and Saturday night. Trivia on Wednesday nights. They also have a private meeting room that seats up to 50.
I generally find something on the menu and JUST HAVE THAT every time I eat at a place, but I'm trying to change that about myself and be more adventurous. And if you like pasta, you really must try the Lobster & Crab Carbonara Pasta. The word awesome falls so short. The other night my Donald had a 24 oz. Ribeye and had to take some home because he just couldn't eat it all. Oh and their loaded homemade chips are a great way to start your meal. And being the southern girl I am, their braised collards make a great side.
Make sure to sign up for the weekly email. There are specials, the let you know who the weekly live entertainment will be in the bar. You can also "LIKE" Jackson's facebook page to keep up with specials and what's happening. And chances are that if you are enjoying dinner there one evening Will Jarriel, the owner, will stop by your table to chat and make sure you meal is perfect. Please tell him that Tammy recommended Jackson's.

You don't want to miss the March 10th 2012 Fall Line Farmers Market in Milledgeville, GA.
I did miss the Saturday they held in February and when I read about it after the fact... I was bummed. There are SO many reasons to shop at a local Farmer's Market that I don't know where to begin. There's
I think the weather is looking great for this Saturday as well. Plan to be there between 9 a.m. and noon.
The location is the Presbyterian Church
210 South Wayne Street
Fall Line Farmers Market has a web page on Facebook you can "LIKE" to keep up with what's happening next and check out who the vendors will be. Perhaps as time goes on it will grow and more vendors will participate.
The participating vendors are:
Babe & Sage Farm: bread, egss, produce
Three Centuries Farm: Grass-fed pork and poultry
Salamander Springs Farm: Produce and Potted Plants
Evergreen East Farms: grass-fed pork and lamb
The Little Farm: produce, salsa, bread
Fort Creek Farm: grass-fed beef
Rocking Chair Ranch: grass-fed beef
You can see even in Febraury on a really cold Saturday morning there was a nice crowd. Saturday's weather according my favorite weatherman says mild at 62 with sunshine. That should make a great day at the Fall Line Farmer's Market. And while you are downtown Millegeville be sure and check out the local stores and the beautiful campuses for GMC and GCSU.
There's always lots to do around Lake Sinclair and this weekend is no exception. I'm looking forward to bringing home the bacon... or the bread... and some fresh veggies. Hope I'll see you there.

Confused? Let me clear that up for you. My Donald asked what I want for my birthday. So I decided today when I was looking to see what was happening around Lake Sinclair so I could decide. There is going to be a Civil War lecture on Wednesday. It's going to be held here at the former Governor's mansion. During the civil war Milledgeville was the capitol of Georgia. It will be Wednesday March 7th at 6 p.m. And while I like history a lot more now than when I was a student and hated it, it's not what I want for MY birthday date, but I am going to tell my Donald. He may want to tack it on to his bithday... since it was just last Friday. And if he does, I will certainly treat him. I love to go to the Governor's mansion. One of our frist dates was to a dinner theater and we got to eat inside the mansion. NICE. The Mansion is open for tours. If you ever have the opportunity, I highly recommend seeing it.
But back to my birthday. I want to see the GCSU production of Doubt. I went and read some reviews and it sounds really nice. The production is not happening ON my birthday, but close enough. It will be at 8 pm on March 20th, 21st and 22nd at the Black Box Theatre. I saw a production at the Black Box Theatre last year and loved it. That newly aquired property to GCSU holds lots of happy memories for me. It was a privately owned movie theater when I was in high school and college. It was "THE" place to see a movie before the multi-plex Carmike opened at the mall in Milledgeville. I saw lots of great and even some not so great movies there.
But after reading some reviews on DOUBT, it's going to be my birthday date. Donald doesn't know it yet. But I'll tell him this evening so he can go ahead and pick up the tickets. Want to order tickets of your own? You can do it on line now. I hope the production lives up to the reviews I read about it. I'll let you know.

I will work on my full market report for the year 2011 vs. 2010 very soon. I thought it would be done by now, but I've been busy busy busy. Yesterday when out high was only 39 degrees (for those of you who know me, I do NOT love cold) I was out showing property. They were REOs and I was miserable. But when a client wants to see property in the cold or the in the rain they are usually serious about purchasing a home.
But what I did check on today when I was making sure the house was still available in the MLS before I emailed the agent to double check was that in 2012 thus far we have had seven properties go to pending status. So I did a quick check and discovered it was only three in the first 4 days of 2011. Better than a 100% increase. I think it would be great if we could keep it up the rest of the year.
That property I was inquiring about was indeed still available and I was thrilled. I wrote an offer on it for my client this afternoon and emailed it over to the listing agent. Perhaps it will make the pending list tomorrow. The rest of the week the weather will be warming up so if you want to find that perfect lake house or first home we won't have to bundle up as much. Give us a call and we'll be happy to show you property & recommend a lender who can help you get a quick approval so you'll be prepared to make that offer before the property is gone like my client did today.

Chase- ing for a cure! 5 k fund raiser for Chase Daniel on December 10th!
Imagine that one day when you take your child to the pediatrician a test got run that made the doctor call and tell you to immediately take your child to a children's hospital. Chase was diagnosed with leukemia this past September and has been having treatments at Eagleston in Atlanta. In the most recent weeks he has also gotten meningitis. Chase is one very sick little boy.
And this was suppose to be such a joyful time and now not only are his parents worried about Chase, but with medical bills and missing work to be with their son find themselves in financial trouble. It's our job, as a community to come together and help them.
Chase's Aunt Brandy has planned a 5K fund raiser. The event will take place at West Georgia College Campus on December 10th. Milledgeville's Bodyplex has gotten on board and any non member of the gyn can have a free 30 day membership by bringing their race registration into the gym.
This was a photo of chase last summer. Today his is on a ventilator. His parent had just closed on a new home and are now facing the worst days of their lives in a hospital at the bedside of their young son.
Please participate.
You can send your donation to:
Robins Federal Credit Union
2584 N. Columbia Street
Milledgeville, GA 31061
checks can be made out to Landon Chase Daniel fund.
And of course you can also go register for the race and those proceeds also will help.
This beautiful family could also use your prayers. The latest news is that Chase is non responsive and perhaps if we all pray for a miracle for this family they will get one.
If you want to be an event sponsor for the race you can get in touch with me and I will get you Aunt Brandy's information so that you can help.
Lane Realty is one of the event sponsors. Donald and my daughter Abigail are both friends with Chase's mom and his uncle used to work on my computers for the office. Please join us in helping this family.
Even if you just have $5.00 to give, every little bit will help.
You can also help by sharing the fund raiser event on Facebook or by "LIKE" ing this post and making it appear of your Facebook wall and Google + ing it also. Help spread the word even if you can't donate. Thanks for your prayers and support for Chase and his family.
