Making Videos for your listings

Robert Binion: Real Estate Agent in Milledgeville, GA

Today in our sales meeting we discussed how to make a video for your listings. Now I've got to tell you the truth. I just learned how to do this on my computer last week using still pictures. And, let me give credit where credit is do, I had to get one of my agetns (Thank you Ande Herren) to show me how to do this. Ande was shown how to do this by his 13 year old daughter. (Thank you Taylor). I was amazed by how simple it was to do. We used Windows Movie maker, which I did not even know was on my computer until about two weeks ago, to insert the pictures of one of our homes onto the maker page. Then we used their standard screen change images to transition between slides. Then we added credits to the end with company info. If you're a Georgia Realtor remember that the GREC changed it's guidelines on advertising in 2005 to include that all forms of social media must include the name of the brokerage and the contact number for the broker. Once you're video is complete you simply save it to your windows video file. Your video is then ready to be uploaded to your youtbue or in our case our youtube/Coldwell Banker Channel. We will be demonstrating at sales meeting next week how to upload these videos to our youtube chanel.

Helping someone who choose a career to serve others and now needs it

Tammy Lankford- lake sinclair (central Georgia): Real Estate Brokerage in Eatonton, GA

Hunter Knowles, 23, is a firefighter for the City of Milledgeville as
well as Baldwin County. Last year he was diagnosed with having
Burkitt's Lymphoma , a severe type of cancer, in his lymph nodes and
has recently spread into his blood stream and bone marrow. He is
currently being treated at Emory Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. Unfortunately
there is not much more they can do to treat the cancer. We, at the
Milledgeville Fire Department, have done some research and have found
out that there are some treatments that can be done that could possibly
save his life at the M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. We are
currently trying to raise money to get him out there to get treated. We
will be having multiple events coming up as fundraisers and would
greatly appreciate your attendance at these functions. Donations will
also be very much appreciated. If you cannot make a function but would
still like to donate, please bring donations to the Milledgeville Fire
Department Station #1 at 201 W. Thomas St. and ask to speak with Jeff
Miller. We thank you and God bless.

** If you are interested in advertising on a T-Shirt to help raise money for Hunter call Abi Register 478-456-5878 or Web Marshall 478-288-6198. These Shirts will be for sale in the near future **

Abi Register is my daughter and her boyfriend Web Marshall is also a firefighter. If you live in Baldwin County and appreciate the protection from the firefighters please consider a donation to this worthy cause.

And for my ActiveRain family and friends... please just pray for Hunter and his family. He's so young a second generation firefighter and it's been hard for his family and the community.

Today's sales meeting topic was Social Media

Robert Binion: Real Estate Agent in Milledgeville, GA

In today's sales meeting we discussed social media and this will be the topic for our next several sales meeting. I learned several weeks ago that the Japanese word for "crisis" literlly translates into the word "dangerous opportuniy". I found this very interesting because the Japanese look at a crisis as an opportunity rather than a problem. That is todays real estate market. Let's face it, the market is in crisis. But if you look at it correctly, this could be a great opportunity. For many years now, most real estate companies have spent big bucks on print advertising. Many of us agents included, thought that real estate books or home finder guides were the only way to advertise our listings. In the crunch of todays real estate market, many companies and agents are having to think of ways to advertise that are not as nearly as costly as print advertising. Here is the opportunity in the crisis. We are thinking of cheaper ways to advertise our listing and social media is doing the trick. Facebook, twitter, YouTube & many more sites are great ways to get your name and your listings out there for FREE. In the coming weeks, our office will be discussing at each sales meetings how to work different forms of social media at each sales meeting. It will be a learning experience for almost all of us but as the real estate industry is ever changing we will be changing with it at Coldwell Banker SSK, Realtors of Milledgeville.

Tuesday Triva- Milledgeville Georgia

Tammy Lankford- lake sinclair (central Georgia): Real Estate Brokerage in Eatonton, GA

I bet most of you could guess that Georgia's state song is Georgia on my mind, but the other bit of "trivia" that I am going to share with you today I bet none of you will actually have known this before you read it. If any of you did, let me know. I'll be surprised, but of course I'll take your word for it.

Milledgeville Georgia- County Seat of Baldwin County that borders beautiful Lake Sinclair was THE ONLY city ever built exclusively to be a state capital. I'm sure many of you might have know that Atlanta Georgia was not always our capital. Milledgeville Georgia served as the capital from 1808 to 1868. You can tour the former Governor's mansion which also at one time served as the residence for the dean of Georgia State College and University. You can also tour the Old Capital Museum which is now located on the campus of Georgia Military College.

Milledgeville's original city plan was 84, 4- acre squares and to this date was the only city in America planned, designed and built as a state capital.
