Solar Power on Maui - We're embracing the power of the sun here in Hawai'i, and businesses in Maui County have been busy installing solar panels to reduce their energy costs and footprint.

The Realtors Association of Maui is currently covering their rooftop with as many panels as will fit, in hopes of saving a whole lot of money for members. Rising Sun Solar is installing some uniquely shaped panels in addition to the regular rectangles we're familiar with. The job is not done yet, so no word on how much is being saved, but I will post updates.

Haleakala Solar Inc. are also busy this week installing sections of photovoltaic receptors on the roof of BJ Furniture Store in Kahului Maui. The project on the 22,000 square foot roof includes 810 panels, the largest photovoltaic system ever installed on Maui. It will generate the amount of electricity used by 60 average households. According to the Maui News, Haleakala Solar President Jim Whitcomb said the Kahului area is a good one for sunshine, with a 480 sunshine zone rating. Kihei is Maui's highest-rated zone at 500.

Our Governor, Linda Lingle, has been very proactive on the energy front, forming the Hawai‘i Clean Energy Initiative - aiming to supply 70 percent or more of Hawai‘i's energy needs by 2030.

Come by and help clean up some trash once you are done with your Saturday morning sesh...

The County of Maui, Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Community Work Day Program, invite you to support Kanaha Beach Park, at a Community Work Day in the park, this Saturday, October 25th, from 8 AM to noon.

Park volunteers will remove litter from the park picnic areas through out the park. Gloves, bags, grabbers, sunscreen/insect repellent, drinking water and sodas will be provided. See Val Magee and Shelly Glass at the park's canoe hale for sign in. Your help is greatly needed for one of Maui's very special beach parks. Make a difference and enjoy the park, beach and ocean.

Kanaha Beach Park,

A world class ocean sport area for Windsurfer and Kiter on Maui Hawaii. A formerly US Military Base during World War 2 has been dedicated for years to the Maui County and Parks and Recreation . The Park is in Kahului and only minutes away from the Airport and Shopping . International presence from US.Mainland , Brazil, Peru, France , Germany , Austria, Switzerland , Norway, Australia and of course a favorite weekend park for Locals found world champions to their favorite World Destination on Maui . " Kanaha Beach park " The @ 2mile Beach is separated from Swimmers , Kiters and Windsurfers.

Since One year , a group of dedicated Maui County Residence have take efforts to make a Beach Clean up every last Saturday of each month .

Kiters are from All over the World to experience the Smooth Wind of Kanaha Beach .

Maui County Life Guard watches out for the safety of Kiter's , Swimmers and Windsurfers .

A New bulletion board has been placed in August 2008 for Locals and Visitors . Everyone can post messages and notes for free!

Valerie Vines Magee with Husband " The Kite Pro" are Chief Volunteers for the Park Clean Up ever last Saturday each month .

The Lifeguard was thanking the volunteers for the fantastic clean up and up-keep of the great park for all Maui Residence and Visitors.

Feel free to come ever last Saturday each month , Kids , Kiters and Surfers are wellcome to help

After long searching and calling all week , I have finally found a Energy Efficiency Mortgage Lender . I cannot yet disclose the details ,but it is all possible .

Last week I was quite disappointed finding out from an Account Executive he is not qualified to lend with this kind of mortgages.

My entire marketing and strategy was based on "Green" . But the hard work of digging deep has now payed of.

Give me 2-3 weeks and I will Blog more in details.
