KTEC Technical School in Rathdrum is moving forward right on schedule with a September opening.
Applications are coming in and right now they have more applications then class space, so plans are being made to add a third shift and this is just for the applications from high school students. The highest percentage of applications are in the area of healthcare, followed closely by mechanics and manufacturing.
KTEC plans to be open for students from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm with evening hours open to adults.
You can go to this web site for more information on the areas of education and the progress of the building and sometime in the next two weeks KTEC will be posting openings for jobs, ktectraining.org

Wow the interest in KTEC has been over whelming! They were hoping to have applicants for the 280 spaces that would be available for the September 2012 opening and guess what: they now have almost 900 applicants! KTEC is now considering the possibility of adding a third shift to accommodate more students. A school of this type is clearly demonstrating that it is a necessity, is welcome, and is a desired addition for our communities.

If you have not driven by the building site for KTEC, you need to. The steel building structures are taking shape and you will see many people busy working (this is good for local economy too). KTEC is located in Rathdrum on the corner of Meyer and Lancaster.

If you want to talk with Mark Cotner who is the Professional Technical Program Director, his number is 208 661-3921. He is very excited about how our communities have come together to support this school.

KTEC Professional Technical school new buildings are moving along nicely out in Rathdrum Idaho. As you can see from the picture the footings are in and they are planning on pouring the slabs this week. The weather has been cooperating so looks like we will be able to see the buildings start to take shape in January.
The KTEC board has been in discussions with community leaders making sure that the community needs for trained young people will be met. This school is a joint venture between three school districts, Post Fall, Coeur d’Alene and Lakeland. If you have questions you can e-mail Mark Cotner at mcotner@cdaschools.org

Wow things are moving along at KTEC, the technical and professional school, that is being built in Rathdrum, Idaho. They are planning a big informational night on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the Coeur d’Alene High School from 6:30pm to 8pm. This night is for middle school and high school students along with their parents. I will be getting an agenda soon, and I will post it when I get it.
There is a lot of excitement in our community from local businesses wanting information about the programs and how they can have input. Also NIC is having the board from KTEC come over to do a presentation so they will know how best to work with the programs at KTEC.
