"I WANT TO KNOW WHAT MOM THINKS..."

Ken Tracy Realtor Naperville Illinois Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Naperville, IL

I was showing a nice young lady some condos and townhomes in downtown Wheaton this evening.

Despite a cold and rainy day, my client was still excited. She brought along Mom and Dad...

I prefer when parents get involved early. Better early then late. It can be challenging to deal with the personalities...

We were in the last building on the list. 255 E Liberty Drive, a six floor condominium building located right by the train station.

The listing agent was showing us the condominiums...

I generally would prefer to not have another agent along, but the condo rules required it. She showed us the condo.

My clients were impressed...

Dad liked the price and the hardwood. Daughter loved the location.

Mom seemed quiet. Too quiet...

I had only met her this evening, but I judged her as a woman with something to say...

"I want to know what Mom thinks," I blurted out.

"I like the building," Mom answered.

Hmmm.

I am not so sure. We might need to see some more...

Kite-Flying World Record Attempt in Wheaton, Illinois

Joe Malvarapu: Real Estate Agent in Chicago, IL

Wheaton, Illinois One of the major events of the year-long celebration of Wheaton’s Sesquicentennial is Go Fly A Kite 2009.

This is no ordinary kite-flying event. The Sesquicentennial Commission has its sights on setting a new Guinness World Record for most kites in the air at the same time and location. The current record is 967 kites in the air (which was set in Germany), and with the community’s participation, organizers know Wheaton can beat that record.

  • When: Saturday, April 18, 2009 (rain date: Saturday, April 25)
  • Where: Graf Park (next to Monroe School, just east of the DuPage County Fairgrounds)
  • Check In Time: 10:30-11 a.m.
  • Kites in the Air: 11:15 a.m.
  • How Long: Kites must be in the air for about one minute to set a new record

You can bring your own kite, or kites will be available for purchase for $3 at the event and prior to the event at the following Wheaton Park District locations:

  • Blanchard Community Center, 1777 S. Blanchard Road, 630-690-4880
  • Cosley Zoo, 1356 N. Gary Ave., 630-665-5534
  • DuPage Historical Museum & Wheaton Park District Office, 102 E. Wesley St. (across the street from Adams Park), 630-665-4710

This event is organized by the Sesquicentennial Commission and the Wheaton Park District.
