Ormond Estate Destrehan LA in Demand

Frank Rubi Kenner/Metairie LA Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Kenner, LA

267 Villere Dr.

Today is day 6 on my personal home listing.

Well it appears that both the appraisal and home inspection are done. We are awaiting the final reports. I feel so far so good and nothing major to report. The under contract status came just two days into the listing. Not to mention the multiple offer scenario.

Home in Destrehan LA seem to be in demand. Possible reasons:

  1. Low Crime rate
  2. Country Club life style
  3. Great Public Schools
  4. Appx 45 mins to downtown New Orleans

Biggest reason to a fast sell without giving away your property is listing with an agent who knows your area and price the property to sell.

It's getting to be that Time of Year

It's getting to be that Time of Year

I am starting to see to see the signs of Fall and the upcoming holiday season. If you go to Home Depot, Sams or Wal-Mart just take a look around. In addition, I am seeing more homes decorated in Destrehan LA for Holloween. Close to Destrehan there is a pumpkin patch farm. For years my kid's schools have made the annual field trip to Montz Pumpkin Farm and Hayride. Located at 17834 River Road, phone 985.652.3672.

Some tips for your Pumpkin lasting thru out the season.

•1. Try to pick off the vine

•2. Find a Pumpkin with as few as possible soft spots which will help with rot and mold

•3. Carving pick a large Pumpkin

•4. Don't carry your Pumpkin by the stem

•5. For Pumpkin Pie chose a small one

•6. Keep the Pumpkin in an undisturbed, cool and dark place once home for cure. This will toughen the rind and prevent rot.

Of course keep safety in mind when at the Pumpkin Patch.

St. Charles Parish Use of Video to Pass Along Local Information

This video was produce by our local parish government. My home is in this video. Here a great example of a community blog. The St. Charles Parish Government, in my opinion is the most progressive government in the Greater New Orleans. Before Hurricane Gustav the parish would post local information and events using www.youtube.com. Just today the video posted help calm my wife nerves on the condition of our home. I have just started to post using video and can see the advantage. Keep checking back for future updates with the use of video.

St. Charles Parish Library

St. Charles Parish Library

It has been some time since I visited a public library. One recent visit and a first to the St. Charles Parish Library surprise me with their offerings. The parish public library offers a large amount of upcoming events to include a movie night for teens and a Wii competition. In addition to a large amount of computers for public use there is a wireless zone. The wireless zone is for those who bring their own computer for connection to the internet. Click on St. Charles Parish Library to visit their website. To cap off this exciting library experience they offer a large amount of current books to check out.
