Golf at the Chateau Golf and Country Club is challenging be to me very forgiving. I enjoy the play of a round of golf on this coasre. I was lucky to recently play a round with a club member and enjoy the after noon. The course is line with tree along its fairways. The course to me plays fast. The eighteen has the added water hazard, which always leave me asking why I play this game? In my opinion the sixteenth is the hardest hole a par 4.

Chicago Cubs and Driftwoods Subdivision Kenner LA "What do they Have in Common"

This past weekend my family and I made our annual trip to Houston Texas to see the Cubs vs. Astros. This trip had some special meaning. This was our first trip to Houston for an Astros since Hurricane Katarina. Second we were hoping to see a new Chicago Cub in action Chad Gaudin. We not only saw Chad throw some 90 plus mph (sliders or fast balls) but spoke to him for about 5 minutes pre game. We personally do not know Chad. Our common thread was being from the same home town, Kenner LA. We do know several young men who play with him the Kenner Rec League in Kenner LA. He spoke of the time when he lived in Kenner. He also spoke of this childhood time living on Granada Dr. in Driftwood Subdivision. Chad played at Galatas playground which is located in Driftwood Subdivision. Unfortunately Cubs and Chad lost that night. Just so you know Chad face 5 players that night and struck out 3.

Our next trip is to Chicago for Labor Day Weekend. Hopefully we will see a win at Wrigley Field.

So much to Do in New Orleans this weekend
February 29 - March 2, 2008

Not enough time this weekend. There are 3 major shows here in New Orleans. My favorite is the New Orleans Home and Garden Show. It is located in the Louisiana Superdome. If you're thinking about a new home, homes for sale or building a new home, this is the place to be.

The second show is the 16th Annual New Orleans Spring RV & Camping Show. The location for this show is in Kenner LA Pontchartrain Center. This show has it all when it comes to RV and campers.

Finally, there is the Greater New Orleans 2008 Auto Show. The location for this show is the Morial Convention Center. If you're researching a new automobile this show can help you compare all in one place.

Greater New Orleans is a happening place this weekend. It will be hard to make all the happenings.

Soccer practice begins next Monday, February 25^th. The site for this spring practice is the Lion Fields across the street from Kenner City Hall. If you have not heard from your Soccer coaches please call the Club office at 504-465-8224. Additional information may be found at the Lafreniere club's website.

Remember to bring your soccer ball, cleats, chin guards and drink to each and every practice.
