Down in the area where the Baker Chocolate Factory is, there is a new project being slated for development.

The name of the project is The Residences at Milton Village.

The site of the property will be on what is now the parking lot in front of Extra Space Storage in Milton on Adams Street. The proposal is to create residential 21 units.

From the frontal elevation shot that the architect created it looks as though it will be about 5 stories and will be on grade with Adams Street. From the rendering, it also looks like the property will have some retail space on the 1st floor. Just from looking at a rendering it also appears that there will be some restaraunt space available as well.

WOW! I cannot believe that Labor Day Weekend is here! I almost cried when I heard the rumble of the big yellow schools busses running up and down Canton Avenue in Milton yesterday. The kids were being shuttled back and forth to the shiny new Milton Schools. Well, don't cry yet. The weather is still fantastic and we have a 3 day weekend coming up.

If you so have kids here in the schools, you probably don't want to stray too far. This weekend maybe you could have a little stay-cation in your backyard. Here is my quick and dirty backyard enjoyment plan for this weekend and you could do all of this with no car.

STEP 1
TODAY:
Go to one of the Milton Public Library Branches and get a great recipes from all of the wonderful cookbooks they have available.

STEP 2:

TODAY: Go down to Milton Landing today between 12:00 and 6:30 PM to visit the Milton Farmers Market. You will be able to purchase locally grown, organic fruits and vegetables directly from the growers. By doing so, you will keep the Massachusetts agricultural economy alive and well.

STEP 3:
Anything you could not find at the Farmers Market could be found at the Milton Marketplace over in East Milton Square. You can visit there web site @ http://www.fruitcentermarketplace.com Their address is:

STEP 4:
Now you need to find a great bottle of wine and some cheese. There are two places to find all the help you need to get a great bottle of wine for your Milton Labor Day Weekend Stay-cation. Down in Milton Village, you can visit the wine shop named Esprit Du Vin. There shop is just over Brush Hill Road on Fairmount Avenue in Hyde Park, Ma. You can visit their web site @ http://www.albertwinestein.com

STEP 5:

CALL SOME FRIENDS AND INVITE THEM OVER AND FIRE UP THE GRILL

STEP 6:
Make sure the kids get something they will enjoy. You could go down to The Radio Coffeehouse on Central Avenue right across from Eprit Du Vin for an ice cream. They are open late most nights in the summer. I am not sure exactly what the hours are. Please call ahead. Their telephone number is (617) 696-2326.

And to burn all the calories off, take a walk around Turners Pond. There is a parking lot available on Central Avenue and another one just off Brook Road at the intersection of Canton Avenue just to the left of the Glove School.

Alright, so your kids are still home and you need a place to access the Internet without having to pull your hair out. I have a couple of spots where you go to gain access to the Internet from wirelessly using their WIFI hot spots.

One of the best places in Milton would be to go to the Radio Coffeehouse which is located down on Central Avenue at the foot of Milton Hill. This great little spot is located next to Tinos and Mackies Barbershop. Just make sure you spend lots of your money on coffee and food. The owner is a great guy. Please tell him I said hi. The warm blueberry muffins are an absolute treasure.

The next place where you go an hide out and gain Internet access using WIFI in Milton would be the Brueggers Bagels. Again, the price of admission would be a small cup of Joe. This is located in East Milton next to Fitness Unlimited and the Milton Flower Shop.

Also in East Milton would be the Starbucks. When I have been over there, I usually connect to the open Network of WDEAN in East Milton Square. He is a software developer in East Milton Square who is located in the office space next to the Milton Barbershop.


If you head over to Lower Mills on the Dorchester side just past the Baker Square (Lofts) you can get a great cup of coffee and WIFI Internet access at Flatblack Coffee which is just around the corner from the Icecreamsmith. Their coffee is delicous.
