With all the doom and gloom that we hear in the media about unemployment rates, people are sitting tight with the jobs that they have whether they like them or not. Well I recently read an article from ManPower and they saying that the employment outlook in Quincy, Boston and Cambridge is looking up!
If you are looking for a job, maybe it is time to consider looking in one of these areas!
Here is the article that I read:
"December 13, 2011 – Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, MA-NH MSA employers expect to hire at a strong pace during Quarter 1 2012, according to the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey. Among survey participants, the Boston-Cambridge-Quincy, MA-NH MSA employment outlook is the fifth best in the nation.
From January to March, 17% of the companies interviewed plan to hire more employees, while 6% expect to reduce staff. Another 68% expect to maintain their current workforce levels and 9% are not certain of their hiring plans. This yields a Net Employment Outlook* of 11%.
“Hiring activity is expected to slightly increase during the first quarter of 2012 compared to Quarter 4 2011 when the Net Employment Outlook was 9%,” said Manpower spokesperson Susan Fontana. “Employers also expect slightly improved employment prospects compared with one year ago when the Net Employment Outlook was 9%.”
