Home sellers are facing a difficult challenge in the current soft market in Middletown area of Frederick County, Maryland 21769. It is taking longer to sell homes in this area than in Montgomery County. In 21769, the average days on the market before a sale has reached 207. Sellers should be prepared for the longer marketing period that is needed for the average sale. Many real estate agents are turning down listings due to the high marketing expense when the sellers are not highly motivated. The average sales price is down to 91.66% of the average list price. The majority of sellers are getting lower sales prices than they expected. Lender owned foreclosures are competing with individual sellers. The REO inventory is high and lenders are motivated sellers because they must reduce their excess inventory of homes. This is a wonderful market for buyers.

Welcome to Middletown, Maryland
"The beautiful Middletown Valley stretches from the Catoctin Mountains on the east to South Mountain on the west, between the Pennsylvania border to the north and the Potomac River and Virginia to the south. Middletown, being midway between the peaks of Braddock and South Mountains, shares her name with a number of other "Middletowns" in other states. By surfing the ‘net, you will quickly find links to Middletown in CA, CT, DE, IL, MA, NJ, NY, OH, PA, RI, and VA. But it will only take a short visit to show our uniqueness and charms -- of a place we townsfolk are proud to call "home!"
"Middletown, Maryland is steeped in American history -- from the mid 1600's and Colonial settlements to the new millennium and high-tech biological engineering, Middletown contributes at every turn of the page. A young Lieutenant George Washington surveyed the South Mountain area and commented that the Middletown Valley was one of the most beautiful places he had ever seen (it is undocumented, however, whether or not he actually slept here). The Revolutionary and Civil Wars passed through Middletown along Main Street, the Old National Pike, turning our homes and churches into headquarters and hospitals.
"Middletown continues to develop from a settlement of farmers and ranchers, tradesmen and craftsmen, businessmen and clergymen -- without losing her agricultural roots. The brisk winter chill contrasts markedly with balmy summer nights, but our weather is never boring. Middletown prides herself at retaining small-town charm and ideals in an era of growth. From her stately Victorian homes and skyward-reaching church steeples to her rustic dairy farms and modern housing developments, residents find that home is a refuge where they can truly unwind, relax, and enjoy life as it used to be......and continues to be."
