While no one can predict the absolute bottom of the real estate market, there are signs that we are in the "safe zone," where prices have fallen sufficiently from their peak to make now a great time to buy.
Look at housing affordability, for example. For February, the index stood at 154, the highest number recorded since early 2003. More people can afford the median-priced home than in years.
