I recently discovered a bit more aobut the State of Maryland's Department of Housing and Community Development "House Keys for Employees" program. THis program is a great tool to help with Downpayment expense assistance to first time home buyers. Charles County Md Commissioners supported this program. Essentially if you qualify for the the program and your "employer" participates you could qualify for up to $10,000 in settlement assistance. CHARLES COUNTY MD TO HELP HOME BUYERS WITH DOWN PAYMENT ASSISTANCE

Charles County MD has been awarded funds that will enable them to help Neighborhoods most affected by foreclosures and sub-prime lending. These funds will not last long.

Through the Neighborhood Conservation Initiative's Down Payment assistance Program Charles County will be able to help buyers with up to $39,999, for home buyers with incomes 50 percent or less of the area's median, and up to $14,999, for home buyers with incomes of 120 percent or less, of area's median, to buy foreclosed homes.

This is an incredible opportunity for buyers in Charles County MD and neighborhoods will benefit too.

The program will be administered by the county Department of Community Services Housing Authority and applicants must meet certain criteria.
