First Time Home Buyers need GREAT mortgage brokers right now!!!

This is a hectic time in the market with the incentives being offered for first time homebuyers - and by hectic I mean there is a lot of confusion involved (more than the typical first time buyer transaction). I have found it incredibly important right now that my first time buyer clients work with a mortgage broker or banker that can walk them through the different scenarios that work best for them. I have dealt w/ some bankers right now who are not up to speed w/ the new incentives, and I'm sorry, in this market it is MOST important to be on the ball.

Experience, sensitivity and intelligence are the most important characteristics I tell my buyer clients while looking for bankers and mortgage brokers.

When I moved to Maine 35 years ago, it was mostly as a result of the books written by Helen and Scott Nearing. Since moving to the Mid Coast region a few years ago, I made the pilgrimage to the homestead that started it all in Brooksville, Maine. Now maintained by young and energetic stewards, this place is a shrine to the folks who inspired the "Back to the Land" movement of the '70s. If you are in the area, you must make a visit.

One of those days...

Ever have one of those days where no matter what you do it comes out wrong? No matter what you do you can't get warm?

I know we all have those days and I know that tomorrow will be better. It always is...but in the meantime I do what I usually do... to find comfort.

I look through my picture folder and relive those memories. And tonight I found a little video clip that I shot during our vacation in Bar Harbor Maine last August.

We vacation in Bar Harbor every August and stay at the same campground on the same camp site at the waters edge.

Our site sits on Western Bay and we are protected by a dotting of islands that buffer us from the open ocean. We camp with a group of good friends and it is something that I really look forward to every year.

I'm counting the days till we go again!

Tonight I found this video and it made me feel warm and happy so I uploaded it to VEOH and decided to share it with you all.

It's kinda shaky...but I think it gives you an idea of what our little piece of paradise is like.

The Downeast Region - Waterfront Property by Sea and by Lake

If you seek the quintessential Maine coast experience, this area of Maine - from Stonington and Castine, through Blue Hill, Acadia and Bar Harbor, Ellsworth, and on up the coast and inland to Schoodic Point, Cherryfield, Milbridge, and Columbia Falls - offers visitors and locals alike everything one could ask for in a Maine coastal experience.

Acadia Park, Bar Harbor, and Mount Desert Island are known all over the world for their scenic beauty and history. The Blue Hill area and south to Deer Isle and Stonington are pure coastal Maine - a spare population, busy, working harbors, lobster traps, chugging boats, and the cries of the seagulls overhead. For many, this is what Maine is all about and what has drawn people to this area since Samuel de Champlain first gazed on Cadillac Mountain 500 years ago.

Volumes have been filled waxing poetic about this area of Maine. However, one of the attractions of this area that is little mentioned is the proximity and beauty of the mid-coastal mountains and how they surround many wonderful clear lakes and ponds.

These bodies of water have an abundance of sandy beaches, glacial rock deposits, and a network of hiking trails. In addition to the great boating and fishing, you can find a wide diversity of wildlife and unspoiled, regional fauna. Establish a foothold on any of these fresh water bodies and enjoy all the aforementioned inland beauty while being a stone's throw from the Maine coast and the Great Atlantic.

Among the lakes and ponds you'll find here are Walker Pond, Toddy Pond, and Wight Pond in the Blue Hill area. Then, as you move east and north, beyond Ellsworth, you'll find Graham Lake, Green Lake, and Beech Hill Pond, as well as Upper, Middle and Lower Lead Mountain Ponds, Rocky Pond, Spectacle Pond, Molasses Pond, Webb Pond, Abrams Pond, Tunk Lake, Beddington Lake, and Pleasant River Lake.

From fresh water fun and recreation to the majesty of the ocean - the Downeast Region has much to recommend it.

Lakefront Locator will get you to available listings in the Downeast Region. LakeSmart is a research tool that will give you important information about area lakes.
