Last year the hunt was in November and 699 lbs of non perishable goods & sundries were collected for distribution.

3rd Annual CCC Picnic was held at the Woodside Park that is located in Hope Township of Midland County, corner of Middle Rd and Shearer Rd.

Feast, fellowship and fun! Games, door prizes, raffle, white elephant auction, guessing game, sack rase and the donut challenge!

Sour Grapes - Article about February 2007 Recall of township officials and present recall petition, which is NOT being instigated by the CCC, but by one of the recalled trustees from Feb 2007.

Present recall in progress is for recalling the Supervisor Julia Nephew.

"License to Steal" - Tax bills were postmarked June 30'th; CORRECTED Tax bills were postmarked July 1'rst. The corrected tax bills are less than the originals, although the County advised refunding the difference to the tax payers who paid incorrect higher amount. However, October 12, 2009, the Township Board passed a Resolution that "...Limit refund of tax overpayment to more than $2.00 due to the cost of processing and postage."

Special meeting held on August 11, 2010 = $500 Fine

Voted in 3 to 1 with Supervisor = Nephew voting NO and Trustee = Kross absent, Yes votes by the Clerk = Lynn Stacey, the Treasurer = Larry Nelson and Trustee = Grell

Goal: To be available to everyone in Billings Township

Billings Township is located in Gladwin County MI. Beaverton area. Much of Wixom Lake is located in Billings Township. There are many rivers, lakes, and state land making our area a popular place to visit and a great place to live. Approx. 2 1/2 hours from Detroit. Swimming and boating on Wixom Lake.

The DNR's Wixom Lake Boat Access Site is located in Tobacco Township. It provides a place for you to launch your boat and park your truck and trailer while you're out on the lake.

Swimming here at this location is free. Located on Dundas Rd, Beaverton MI 48612

Dundas Rd starts at M30 near Edenville and winds along the lake for a ways and will take you out to Dale Rd - which runs East and West between M30 and M18.

You don't have to own property on the lake to enjoy Wixom Lake, whether you are visiting the area or live here, there is a place to go to swim and launch your boat. DNR Boat launch costs $24 annually.

CCC Takes first prize! The CCC float was a restored circus wagon. I happened to find a picture of their float as I attended the parade! It is the photo above.

August 3rd Primary - Determines the candidates from each party; they advance to the November election. You can only vote for one party or your vote will be spoiled in the Partisan Section of the Ballot. "It is not good form to destory your oppositions signs."

Gladwin County Fair is going on this week at the Gladwin County Fair Grounds in Gladwin MI. These photos are from Beaverton's Fourth of July parade held on July 3'rd in Beaverton MI. I thought it was a clever way to advertise the fair, the demolition derby and their business (Myers for Tires is located in Gladwin MI - They sell tires, auto parts and service automobiles as well.)

The Gladwin County Fair is an annual event in this community. Once again, can't say I've been there every year, but more years than not, I have attended the fair. Hope to see you there!
