In an effort to help fill the need, we've compiled a list of toy options for teens. Another great way to get ideas is to ask a teenager in your life what they would enjoy.

November is a Holiday Celebration month for the City of Wayzata, with special events on every weekend throughout the month.

Mid-November is time for Wayzata's annual "Holiday Shopping Experience", followed by the annual "Holiday Open House and Tree Lighting Ceremony". Beginning on the first weekend in November, you'll see Wayzata businesses rolling out their holiday specials and putting them on display.

A Unique Holiday Event! Wayzata Hosts its First Annual "Young Professionals Ugly Sweater Restaurant Crawl"

Eric Kodner, Wayzata Lakes Realty - Twin Cities, Madeline Island Real Estate: Real Estate Brokerage in Minnetonka, MN

Here's a unique and unusual Holiday Event..

The Wayzata Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the first annual Young Professionals Ugly Sweater Restaurant Crawl on December 2nd, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

The crawl starts at the Wayzata Muni (Municipal Pub and Restaurant) and then moves to Sunsets on Wayzata Bay, winding up at Northcoast. And after a few cocktails at each locale, one must wonder if anyone will even be able to determine whose sweater is ugliest. With three or four martinis under one's belt, most ugly sweaters would probably look pretty good to the average person!

The Wayzata Chamber seems to be marketing the "Ugly Sweater Restaurant Crawl" as a business networking event. I wonder how many local young professionals will be rummaging through west suburban thrift shops during the coming weeks, searching for that ideal ugly sweater.

The December weather on Lake Minnetonka may be chilly, but don't worry, you'll have your ugly sweater to keep you nice and warm as you move from one restaurant to the next.

Prizes will be awarded for the most tacky-looking holiday sweater. The mind boggles, trying to imagine what that will look like. I've seen some loud sweaters, with Santa posed next to an oversized Rudolph, or orange-and-purple embroidered carolers. So I know some really ugly sweaters are out there.

So dig through your closets and rummage around in all those sweater drawers, until you find that garish, hideously ugly sweater that you never got around to donating to Goodwill. It just might earn you a prize on December 2nd.

The Wayzata Chamber website says, "Prizes will be awarded for the ugliest, tackiest, most henious holiday sweater...and it won't be fruitcake!"

If you want to get in on this fun and unique networking event, you'll have to RSVP to the Wayzata Chamber office by November 30th.
