Everyone who deals with me tells me I'm "too honest". Really? Is that possible? I certainly don't believe it.

Three times this week I had my honesty tested. One, I went to the gas station. Pumped gas. Went inside to pay...I know archaic...but I needed a banana! The clerk told me no gas was pumped on that pump. $20.00. I argued with him, but there were other people waiting to pay so I went back out to my car to check the gas gauge. Yes, I had about $20.00 of gas in my tank...so in 20 below wind chills, I trudged back in to argue with him to give him money. He said he was so glad I came back because he realized his error. DUH???
Then, yesterday I received a refund from the State of Minnesota for a couple hundred dollars. I discussed this with several people. I told them all that I had to pay in to the State. Why would they refund my money...they all said just cash the check and don't worry about it. Again, Miss Priss had to know why and perhaps rectify the situation....called my accountant. She told me it was LAST YEAR's refund. Oh, I know. I should have checked on that a long time ago. But, I never did. Anyway, now I can cash the check with a clear conscience. (Why did it take them so long? But, that's another blog.)
The other one I cannot reveal...it has to do with someone and a situation that ethically I cannot comment on. See what I mean? That person commented that I am the most honest person he knows and that everyone else would never be as honest. I find that disconcerting. I believe that every person wants to be honest. But, I am not naive. There are some I just don't trust...it's a gut feeling, perhaps because I am, I have some help from somewhere that tells me that the other might not be quite as truthful.
Why can't we all just tell the truth? I can't lie because I can barely remember what actually happened. I'd be so lost to try to remember if, when and why I lied. Where would I be then?

in its infinite wisdom has locked me out of my gmail account for 24 hours. My infraction? Flying fingers. I don't know about you, but I love my email. My email is my business...it brings me buyers, sellers, BPOs and some other real estate assignments. I make money when I am online.
I tried everything. They asked me when I created my account...the month, the day, the year.
"Dear Diary - Today I started my gmail account with Google. It's an historic occasion. Nearly as important as the birth of my child, my wedding anniversary, the date I started my real estate career. I will put this date on the calendar and celebrate the anniversary every year. How exciting!!!!"
Yeah, right. Some days I can barely remember my social security number. Or my shoe size.
What's a girl to do? You can't email or call them with a sob story. I guess I just have to wait. And wait, and wait. Patience is a virtue, right?

Interestingly enough, Lennar Homes has come up with cash to proceed with Martin Farms again. It has 16 developments in the Twin Cities area and now has 54 additional single-family lots in Otsego. Apparently, they have some confidence in our neighbor to the northeast as far as selling lots and single-family homes in this time of somewhat uncertain economic times. This particular builder can sense a profit. The properties are scheduled to sell from between 184,900 to $275,00.
My wish for them, is that given the conference call I was on yesterday with several REO vendors, that they can sell new construction at that price given the amount of new housing in the "shadow market" coming on the next three quarters. It will be interesting to see how the consumer will react to new housing compared to almost-new REO housing at considerably less cost, and appraisals will play an important role in how the Ostego market will recover.

So, I think I am pretty computer savvy. I wanted to do HD photography and found a site that promised it for free with five stars....oh, yeah. Whose five stars? Well, I downloaded it and read the tutorial and then, declined the yahoo toolbar, the blah-blah, the blah-blah-blah, the blah-blah-blah-blah, and it intstalled. Great. Now, what do I do. No explanation of how to use it. But, guess what, I have a new browser. Something called My Freeze. Yay! All kinds of muckety-muck. Sorry I'm partial to my own web brower, which does a mighty fine job for me and has my email at a click. While all this was transpiring, I lost a BPO for $75.00 US Dollars which would have been a nice sack of groceries for the household.
Lesson learned? Oh, yes. Free is NEVER FREE and watch your back every moment. It took more than twenty minutes to rid my computer of all the &?^%# it tried to upload. Four stars! Right!

If you haven't strolled through an antique store lately, perhaps you should. Everyone these days seems to be longing for the "old days". Here is where you can truly see the artifacts and memories from those days. I took a trip down memory lane recently and saw toys from my childhood, comic books, fun funny hats, books I remember from my when? Each booth had something for my mind to mull over...I remember that! I wish I still had that! My mom had one of those! I remember my Dad using that! It was so much fun!

My day went by so fast, while I spent so much time in the past..when we all think time passed much more slowly. Isn't that ironic? So much to remember...so much to cherish. It was more fun to pass the time remembering only the best of times with a best friend. And, we see the past through a filter that makes it all seem so much better than today. So, my best advice? Make the most of today for your tomorrow is filled with antiques and memories...if you are lucky!!!1
