Looking for something different to do this weekend that is not that far away?
We'll be venturing over to that quant little town of Lawrence, Kansas this evening for their annual Busker Fest.
What is a Busker? It's a street performer and they will be all over downtown Lawrence this weekend beginning Friday night and Saturday and Sunday.
My favorite street performer Mama Lou will be performing tonight and tomorrow. For more information about her visit strongwomanshow.com

Mama Lou can tear a phone book in half, swallow fire, drive nails through her tongue and keep an audience entertained like never before. Her website states "Phone books or your heart neither stands a chance."
She's remarkably entertaining and extremely talented. She's traveled from Australia to Seattle to North Carolina to New York entertaining at street festivals.
For more information on the hours and performance schedule visit www.lawrencebuskerfest.com
See you there!

As with each Memorial Day we should honor those who have protected our country and paid the extreme price of doing so with their life.
Last evening we attended a wonderful Memorial Day Celebration at Union Station and the fireworks were shot by the only WWI Memorial in our nation... Liberty Memorial.
It was a great event, widely attended and music was performed by the Kansas City Symphony.

Yesterday, as I was driving to a client's closing in North Kansas City, I was running early. This pleased me as it had been a hectic day. What pleased me more was that I had time to stop at a little Pastry Shop. The sign outside has intrigued me for a long time. It says "homemade cupcakes" - and it's a homemade sign. Little bitty place. -Remember what they say about big things coming in small packages?
This is Martha Uhl, owner of Wally's Pastry Shop at 3855 N Oak Traffic way in Kansas City, MO. 64116
Martha proudly displays some of the cupcakes made by her son, Manfred Uhl, the artist. And what an artist he is! The frog and the bear cupcakes are made from sugar and food coloring; not plastic. I have tasted many fabulous wedding cakes from Wally's but these cupcakes are just too cute!
The pastries are heavenly! If you have lived north of the river for any length of time, you are undoubtedly familiar with this marvelous shop. If you have not yet had the pleasure, treat yourself to the most delectable pastries in North KC. Maybe even the whole city.
Open Monday - Friday 9 to 5 ...Saturday 9 to 3 ...Closed on Sundays (816) 452-7535
