In case you missed this piece of news, a yearlong battle regarding year round status was recently decided at the Rockingham County Superior Court.
The case involved a local couple trying to sell their shore front properties only to discover that the town of Hampstead had declared the properties as “seasonal”.
Seasonal, even though the tax assessment card, long used by REALTORS and residents alike, to help determine the status of a property made no reference to being seasonal. As a REALTOR one of the first things we do when taking a listing or doing a CMA (comparative market analysis) is to go to the town and pull the card.

“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” New Hampshire will air on Sunday, January 27.
How cool is this... ABC has decided to expand their typical one-hour episode to a two-hour special. It seems that they had way too much good New Hampshire footage to leave on the cutting room floor!
Admission is free, plus in addition to the show, there will be special guests, raffles and other activities, including a behind-the-scenes documentary on the volunteers who made this happen.
The doors open at 6 p.m. and the program will begin at approximately 6:45. It will be general seating, so plan on arriving early.
Let's all help show ABC and the nation just how special New Hampshire is!
Everyone is invited so let’s fill the arena! They are asking that all those who volunteered please wear their blue shirts so that they can be recognized.
Jay and I plan on attending...it should be an awesome night!

Tuesday I got up very early and drove to Conway New Hampshire where I was the guest speaker for the White Mountain Board of REALTORS.
I presented my class called Consumer Centric Market, which is all about web 2.0 and how to reach the Net Generation. The program went real well, I could see the excitement in the crowd and the feed back has all been fantastic.
You know you've succeeded when participants take the time to contact you after a class and tell you how much they enjoyed it. It's always nice to hear positive feedback. One agent Meghan Simone was so inspired she went and fine tuned her blog and started blogging in earnest. I love seeing her excitement. Of course I've invited her to join AR!
I really enjoyed being in Conway New Hampshire especially since the day before brought us about a foot of snow and everything looked so bright and clean.
The majestic New Hampshire views along the road were just phenomenal that morning and if I wasn't so worried about being late for the presentation I would have stopped to take pictures.
Later, when I left for home I let the GPS take me and it brought me a way I would never have gone on my own. I'm not sure what town I was in when I took these pictures but I think the lake was called Silver lake. I love doing real estate training in New Hampshire as it allows me to visit places in my state that I might normally not see.
The White Mountain and Lakes Region of New Hampshire has some of the prettiest views I've ever seen. It funny because not matter how much I know about New Hampshire...no matter how many beautiful places I have visited.. I'm still surprised when I find a new to me hidden beauty.

Happy New Year...A New Hampshire housing recovery in 2008...
Well maybe not a recovery but certainly a leveling off.
We’ve had an incredibly busy week here in Hampstead NH, both personally and professionally.
This past week alone we’ve written 3 purchase offers for buyer clients, had one home inspection and showed multiple properties to other customers. There are some awesome buys out there and the old saying ” he who hesitates loses” is so true.
I really can't remember ever being this busy in December. On New Years day we even showed a condo and then wrote an offer on it...I think 2008 is going to be a much better year for real estate than 2007 was.

It's simply beautiful in New Hampshire this time of year with plenty of white fluffy snow all over the place. There really is something magical about seeing fresh snow glittering in the sun.
If you're looking for a home in New Hampshire...don't hesitate, dress warm and come on out, there are plenty of homes available....I'm sure we can find you your perfect dream home.
