All in a days work.

Steve Loynd/ 800-926-5653, White Mountains NH: Real Estate Brokerage in Lincoln, NH

Like most people in America I have to commute to work, but I'm not looking for sympathy I would like to share my drive.

This is my kitchen window view, I get to see this every morning over coffee before the dreaded commute to work.

As I approach the highway entrance ramp my last glimpse of nature before the high-speed commute.

Another difficult merge into the throngs of sour commuters, I never count the cars but on this day I saw five in the first five miles of my hellish ride to work.

On the exit ramp I begin to wonder how anyone can live with all this pavement and urban sprawl, I have to get past that now and get on my "A" Game. It is work after all.

After that horrible 6 mile commute is over at least the views from my office window isn't that bad and I Allow myself to calm down before the day begins in earnest.

I hope you all have as terrible a drive to work as I do. If you lived in the White Mountains of New Hampshire you too would have to put up with these scenes every day so count your blessings.

Please no sympathy comments, this is my cross to bare and like all good workers I will make the best of it. steve@alpinelakes.com / www.alpinelakes.com / 800-926-5653

Don't wait for the frost to be on the pumpkin to visit the Jack'O'Lantern golf course.

Steve Loynd/ 800-926-5653, White Mountains NH: Real Estate Brokerage in Lincoln, NH

The golf Course is owned by former Master champion Doug Ford (a green jack winner in 1956), his son Mike and his wife. The course has never been in better shape, and many that visit and play say the fall foliage is their favorite time to visit the Woodstock New Hampshire course. Many of the return visitors tell me they have played the course for 50 years and even honeymooned here.

The food is great, the golf superber and the accommodations are first rate. You can rent a golf side condominium or purchase one of the few remaining places along the first hole of the course.

The on-site condominiums feature a screened porch, fireplace, and are uniquely designed to have a lock off hotel room as part of the condominiums. So you can book a place as a single couple or by opening up the lock off the 3 three bedroom plus loft duplex can sleep a big group.

The Post and beam covered bridge is one of the attractions for golfers.

Pemigewasset river on the course dinner train

The rail road tracks offer a sight seeing train in the summer, and snowmobiling access in the winter and the resort is only 6 miles from the Loon Mountain Ski area exit. A new indoor pool complex is currently under construction, the condominiums are starting in the low 200's and most come ready for rentals and are offered for sale fully furnished.

Unconventional (Winter) Olympic hero, and all around athlete (-Bode-)

Steve Loynd/ 800-926-5653, White Mountains NH: Real Estate Brokerage in Lincoln, NH

Bode Miller: Two time silver medalist, two time World Cup Champion, one of Americas greatest Skiers these are the things we all know. But did you know that Bode will again train by himself and not with the American team coaches. Even the name Bode is unconventional, his work-outs are not what normal athletes would find on their training schedule either. Running in river beds, rock hopping and pushing wheal-barrows up hills sounds like a day on the farm, and that is what it is for Bode.

The Organic Farm Bode purchased and his sister runs is in Franconia New Hampshire, not too far from the family home in Easton NH is the site of much of the summer work-outs. The media has played up the growing up roughing it angle and rightfully so, Bode had only an out-house for most of his youth and that makes for an interesting story for a future Olympic Athlete.

Bode & Steffi Graf: The Miller family owns a summer tennis camp also in Franconia, and had a chance to show off his athleticism as a very young boy. In fact those of us that know Bode, understand you will have your pride smashed playing almost any sport against Bode. He is as you may have guessed a natural at all things athletic, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, golf and the list goes on.

Playing for the Nashua Pride Practice with the U.S. Hockey Team

Bode & I, Have played The Profile club in Franconia NH, The Jack O'Lantern resort in Woodstock NH, and The Famous Mount Washington Hotel Course in Bretton Woods NH, where Bode has a slope side ski house as the official Ski ambassador to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I can personally say not training with the U.S. Ski team hasn't hurt Bode's all-round "great at every sport- status" he has. When we've played golf together, I have watched him hit golf balls that few pros could match.

So in this summer Olympic season, that is my take on Naturally talented athletes, no matter the sport they choose to play today or the season they play it in the good ones make it look easy. Go U.S. Team, we are proud of you and in this case proud to know you.
