Tonight we had the annual Wyckoff fireworks. It was supposed to be this past Friday but we had a weather issue. The night tonight was beautiful. There were many oohs and ahhs from the crowd. (Mostly my 3 children who commented on every explosion). It really is a nice feeling you receive when you are surrounded by your friends and neighbors. A great time was had by all and more importantly funds were raised for the Wyckoff Fire Department. I hope to see you all there next year.

This is the 51st year that the Wyckoff Fire Department will be holding their annual Fireworks fundraiser. There will be a concert starting at 6:45 and the fireworks are scheduled to start at 8:30pm. Tickets may be purchased for $8.00 in many places around town including the Wyckoff Y. Children under 10 are free. I hope the sky clears up and the hard working Volunteer Wyckoff Firemen are able to raise much needed funds.

While wandering through Wyckoff --- only 7 square miles and is within 27 miles of mid-town Manahatten. It was first settled in the early 18th Century. The town name, a combination of words derived from the Indian word for high ground "wickoff" or "wickok" which means water. The population is approximately 16,500 residents.

The town features many types of beautiful homes featuring a blend of old and new all set on neatly measured lots which adds to the appeal of this small suburban town. Dutch Colonials, wonderful capes and sprawling center halls are amongst the featured architectural styles within the neighborhoods.

Wyckoff offers an abundance of parks and recreational activities for all its residents.
