Here in beautiful Mesquite, Nevada there is a fairly new Mexican food restaurant called Los Cazadores. They are located right in the heart of our town on Mesquite Blvd. For me they're the best in town. I have dined at all of the other Mexican restaurants and this one is definitely the best. I say this for a couple of reason. First they make their Chips and Salsa fresh everyday and the chips are not too greasy and the salsa is just right, not too hot or too mild. The portions you get are large and I mean large, with the average lunch price about $7.00 and dinner a little more. The service is very nice and can seem a little slow during the lunch hour, but that's because they are making your food as soon as the order is placed.

As you may know , the food from Mexico is regional. Meaning where the cooks/owners or managers come from is usually the style and/or taste of the food. At one of the other larger Mexican restaurants here in Mesquite the owners come from central Mexico. The food there is good but I prefer the dishes from the Northern states of Mexico, such as Chihuahua or Durango. OK, to be truthful my wife is from Durango, Mexico which is of course one of the reasons I prefer that style of food. However, I must add that no one cooks Mexican cuisine as good as my wife ( I may be prejudice here, but at least I've covered myself). My point? Well it's simple, in case your spouse or significant other is not Mexican or a very good cook, you should really try Los Cazadores, I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Some of these custom homes have a casita - Casitas are usually separated from the homes by a courtyard and have their own full baths, walk in closets and sometimes a kitchen area. With their own entrance, a casita can be used as a private guest house for visitors.
The 2 or 3 car oversized garages usually have room for a golf cart and extra storage.
Several homes are for currently for sale in this Mesquite NV luxury neighborhood from $705,000 for a 3359 square foot home to $1,450,000 for a 6161 square foot home. One foreclosed home is for sale at $750,000 for a 5608 square foot home on the golf course. Building lots are still available from $160,000 to $275,000 - the smallest lot is just over 1/4 acre, but most lots are 1/3 to 1/2 acre - all with city, mountain or golf course views - and some have several types of views.

This is an update to a blog/article I posted in March about the Desert Falls Sports Complex proposed for Mesquite. After meeting with certain people here in Mesquite that are in the know, I am more confident about the complex coming here. Let me say that I have always felt that it would be a great deal for Mesquite, I was just not real sure if it was going to happen. Although I'm still a little skeptical, I believe that the chances of our town getting a top notch sports complex, not to mention revenue from visitors and athletes, is much better than I originally thought. Obviously this complex will provide jobs both during the construction phase and after, which will be a very nice boost to our economy.
There are those who say that "it will never happen", or "we don't need any growth in Mesquite", I personally choose to be more positive about this project, I understand that they the developers, are well funded and there are other complexes similar around the country. It should be said that the project has been delayed, however, I don't believe in this economy that should be a shock to anyone. Of course delays happen all the time with construction projects during the best of times, so no big news there. Those whom I have spoken with expect the delay of the first phase to be about a year, but there are certain deadlines that the developers must meet very soon.
