The Old Glory4th of July is coming!

“We must be free not because we claim freedom,but because we practice it.”
~ William Faulkner

July 4th Independence Day is not only a day of picnics, parades and waving of the Old Glory. It is much more than that - it is an annual celebration to commemorate the courage and faith of our founding fathers in their pursuit of liberty, and the sacrifices made in the struggle to unite a young nation.

So give special thanks to those who serve our country (and their families) for their dedication and sacrifice to uphold these same principles of freedom to this day, both at home and abroad.

The Oklahoma City Philharmonic will offer free patriotic pops concerts this week. "Red, White and Boom!” at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Chisholm Trail Park, 500 W Vandament in Yukon. The Saturday performance is part of Yukon’s annual Freedom Fest. Guest soloist is tenor Mike Eldred. The performance will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display!

This is going to be the biggest tax imposed on American Citizen or in fact any citizen in the world - IT IS THE BIGGEST TAX IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD.

Energy Tax Facts

The Markey-Waxman “Cap-and-trade” Energy Tax bill, in the current form being considered by the House Energy and Commerce committee, would have the following catastrophic effects by 2035:

  1. Reduce aggregate gross domestic product (GDP) by $9.6 trillion;

  2. Destroy 1,105,000 American jobs per year on average, with peak years seeing unemployment rise by over 2,479,000 jobs;

  3. Raise electricity rates 90 percent after adjusting for inflation;

  4. Raise inflation-adjusted gasoline prices by 74 percent;

  5. Raise residential natural gas prices by 55 percent;

  6. Raise an average family's annual energy bill by $1,500 annually; and

  7. Increase inflation-adjusted federal debt by 26 percent, or $29,150 additional federal debt per person, again after adjusting for inflation.

Shotgun sports - tradition, art and skillA little over a year ago I could never imagine that I would love this sport. Not even in my wildest dreams I could see my picture holding a shotgun!

I am a creative spirit and decorating, designing or holding a brush with a blob of oil paint was (and actually still is) a passion of mine. Holding a shotgun? ... Neeeh... - big stretch!

There is something very attractive about a shotgun. The metal part which is actually it's heart, is almost always beautifully engraved. These are a definite works of art.

It takes a lot of skill, artistic talent and imagination to achieve this kind of a result. And also I am very positive that a little of the artist's soul is included in these masterpieces. All of them are one of a kind, so unique. Look at the pictures and judge for yourself. Be at awe just by looking at them...Shotgun sports - tradition, art and skill

This is what got me interested in the shotgun first...then the people I met, the camaraderie, the willingness to support and help. it's like playing golf but with a shotgun. Discipline and practice. I made lots of great friends while trying to conquer the skill and techniques.

The challenge of sporting clays lies in the fact that you shoot at a nearly infinite variety of targets. The game requires a fine balance between the well-honed instincts of a good wing shot and the controlled, measured performance of a clay target veteran. Shotgun sports - tradition, art and skill

It takes a lot of practice in order to get a 'feel for the skill'. It is a challenge! I try to understand the game, memorize the presentations, get more knowledge to become better...It is an addiction! It is a healthy addiction for that matter.

Sporting Clays at Quail Ridge by Bo Kociuba, Yukon RealtorSporting clays shooting is one of our western traditions. I have discovered this wonderful sport and hope that with my competitive streak I will continue to get better. I hope to meet more interesting people, make many more good friends and spread the word about this great and challenging sport.

Would you like to give it a try? I would love to have you as my guest at my club at Quail Ridge in Tecumseh, OK or Silverleaf in Guthrie, OK both of them just miles from metro OKC.

LET'S BRAKE SOME CLAY TOGETHER!

Make your buyer 'feel' the space by Bo Kociuba, Realtor, www.Okla-OK.com

Visual aids are so important to the human eye. Majority of the people cannot imagine possible changes to the unfinished space. A lot of us need to 'hang our eye' on something. A bare wall has a tendency to make the place smaller and very unappealing, of course. A lot of us need to 'hang the eye' on an object or accessory. Color makes the space interesting and attractive. Accessories help us 'feel' the space and create warmth.

Just few simple accessories and a little color make a lot of difference. It certainly helps visitors understand the space and very possibly helps them 'move in'... My Open House visitors were really pleased and sent few compliments my way...

This is very important with the new construction where bare walls make all rooms look the same to the potential buyer... Below is a couple of examples I introduced just recently to a new house in River Mesa Addition in Yukon, OK...
