Just returned from our first vacation (without kids or that wasn’t a working vacation), since our Honeymoon to Jamaica 14 years ago.
Spent a few days on the beach in Florida. Water was warm, sun was hot and I discovered I could be a beach bum! Beautiful sunsets!
I would have loved to have gone scuba diving, but settled for an afternoon of snorkeling. I haven’t been scuba diving since our Jamaica vacation. The snorkeling was so-so, the colors weren’t very vibrant where we went. Much prettier to hit 60-80’ on a dive, but at least I got to goof around in the ocean some more.
Walking in the surf schools of stingrays would swim past and you could even see a few crabs. Stepped on a crab and it pinched my foot….bit of a shock and it hurt too!
The last day we went to Tropicana field to watch the Texas Rangers play the Tampa Rays. We had great seats just behind 3rd base. First time I have been in a domed stadium. They keep the temperature at 72 degrees! My wife and the ladies surrounding us were complaining about how cold it was and they should have brought jackets! I guess when it is 90+ degrees outside and then having a cold wind blowing on you at all times was a little chilly. Rangers won the game!
We met Texas Ranger Mike Napoli’s father at the hotel while waiting for the shuttle. It was funny. Napoli's family couldn’t believe my wife was the one who wanted to go to the game and I was the one more interested in the beach. Napoli’s parents live in Florida, so they were getting to see him play at their “local” field.

Purcell Diamondbacks
League Champions!
The Diamondbacks rang up 15 wins and only 1 loss in league play.
They are now working their way through the Post season tournament. The team is hoping for another 1st place finish and, of course, more hardware for the trophy case.
One of the great things about being a Realtor and thus self-employed is the ability to help coach/assist with my boys' teams. Typically, I can make all their games and practices. When they each have a game going in different locations, then it is wife to one and me to the other!
I am not one of the main coaches for this team, but fill in when the real world keeps a coach from making it. Matter of fact, tonight and tomorrow night I will be back at first base yelling "GO GO GO or TURN AND LOOK" and waving my arms! With 8 year olds you have to be VERY obvious.
My youngest, Ryan, plays center field and catcher for the team. We are lucky to have coaches that enjoy working with the kids and let the kids have fun.
In a few weeks it is off to Regional and (hopefully) next is State!
GO DIAMONDBACKS!!!!!
Ballpark in Arlington, TX
It was a little cold that day

Wondering if now is the time to buy? With interest rates falling, the answer is "yes." The rates offer a good incentive to buy your Blanchard home.
Last week there were reports of interest rates dropping as low as 3.875%. Most rates are hovering between 4.25% and 4.500% for
20 year loans for borrowers who have a good credit history.
Looking for a shorter loan so your home is paid off quicker is a great idea if you can pay a little more per month. A 15 year loan can be had between 3.625% and 3.875%. Remember however, those with commendable credit records will receive these lower rates.
The best thing to do when you see a fantastic rate is to be sure to call your lender, and lock in the rate as soon as possible. Many buyers start their home search early, and find a few homes that will suit them so they can prequalify ahead of time, and when they find a low rate they can jump on it.
There are no guarantees that rates are going to stay at record lows. At some point , the economy will turn around, and people will be kicking themselves for not buying a home when they had the chance.
It is possible, however, with the economic downturn, that the Federal Reserve will keep rates competitive for quite some time.
To plan your strategy for getting the best rate, start by finding a knowledgeable loan originator who knows the ups and downs of the ever changing mortgage market, will study the underwriting guidelines, and is some one you know who will get the job done.
Haven't found a home yet? Of 147 homes for sale in Blanchard, there are currently 91 three bedroom homes available with prices at $200,000 or less! You can find one of these great homes throughout the area including in neighborhoods such as Oakley, Fox Run, Millridge Farms, and Country Creek.
I want to help you find your home, so you can lock into one of these low rates now. Please call me at (405) 366-1111 or check out my website at www.OkHomesNow.com, and start searching for that perfect home in Blanchard, as well as Moore, Norman, Edmund, and Oklahoma City.
