Are You As Secure As You Think You Are?
We're talking about home security here. Guess what brought it to the forefront of our minds is that a few weeks ago we had an uninvited guest cruise through our backyard. Not an appealing thought as we got up and saw the footprints of the intruder in the snow. We found out from neighbours later that cabanas and sheds were checked out for valuable items and taken.
We always felt safe in our neighbourhood. Yes, we have and use a security system, but we used it only when we were away from the house. Since discovering the footprints a little too close for comfort we have now been using the system even when we are home. Probably a good idea for anybody with a system. Yes we know it can be inconvenient, we have set the horns blasting a few times as we adjust to the fact you can't just open doors and windows without checking.
It occured to us today that one of our alarm panels is in full view from the glassed front door. Who cares? Well the little green light means go and the little red one means stop and if it is in plain view of a would be intruder, well, what good is it? They know whether your security alarm is set or not.
Just thinking out loud here but maybe for those of you with panels in view like ours, you should cover those lights with tape or something for added security. Why advertise that the alarm is off when you have forgotten to turn it on!

Hey! Attention online gamers...who's ready to make some money? Fake money that is ....
On March 1st, CENTURY 21 Millennium agents went virtual in the launch of a free online game, Property Mogul. Its a fun, online game designed to educate Canadians about real estate investment.
Through location-matching technology, each player is assigned a CENTURY 21 agent avatar, which is a virtual representation of an existing, real life agent from a local CENTURY 21 office. The agent avatar will accompany players through their journey of becoming a Property Mogul.
Property Mogul exists in a fictional city, Realopolis, which is made up of unique neighbourhoods, each with its own characteristics including landscape, properties and services. Players start from small beginnings with one property and $1million of virtual cash. Through buying, selling and property management of both residential and commercial properties, players will gain awards throughout the game towards Mogul status.
Players can also compete with one another to gain leaderboard rankings and share their achievements through various social media channels. To play Property Mogul for free, visit www.propertymogul.ca.
The unique game, launched by CENTURY 21 Canada was developed to mirror many of the situations of the real world. From deciding which mortgage to go with, or which contractors to use, to figuring out whether or not to report a suspicious neighbor - the events reflect possible situations that players may experience in their daily lives.
Property Mogul was jointly developed by CENTURY 21 Canada and Engaging Communications.
See you on Realopolis, let's buy & sell some properties together!
