Located in Troutdale, Oregon near the start of the Columbia River Gorge, McMenamins Edgefield is a historic and interesting place to visit. Edgefield was originally built in 1911 on 74 acres as the Multnomah County Poor Farm. It is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. From the moment you walk in you will see colorful artwork and paintings, historical photographs, quaint furnishings & decor, and a fun atmosphere. Once you enter McMenamins Edgefield it's like your in a little world all it's own. You can stroll through the gardens, visit the giftshop, play a game of pool, watch glassblowers at work, see a movie at the theater, have a soak in the outdoor saltwater soaking pool, golf on two par-3 courses, have a meal at one of the restaurants or pubs. Edgefield offers over 100 European style guestrooms and hostel accommodations. Each room is furnished quaintly with bathrobes provided and private bathrooms down the hall. Suites with private baths are available also. Missing are televisions and telephones to add to the historic ambiance.
