Last week Synergy Staging had the opportunity to stage this beautiful home in Lake Oswego. When we visited the property to do our walk through it was clear that some of the colors had to be toned down. Fortunately the owner understood that the colors would not appeal to everyone and was prepared to paint the interior of the home.
How one prefers to live in a home is almost always different from how one should sell their home. We personally love bold and vibrant colors, but when selling your home, keeping a nice warm neutral is going to be appealing to the broadest range of potential buyers.
In the before picture you can see the living room had a mix of white and mint green. Although the ceilings were very high, the room was small and broken up with a lot of different angles. Painting one neutral color throughout the space made it feel larger and buyers were less distracted by the architecture.

And check out this purple dining room that needed a facelift. By using the same neutral that was used in the living room, the entire space flowed together. After staging, the dining room became a key selling feature in the home with it's inviting feel and beautiful views.

When selling your home, the investments you make in preparing your property will pay off. Home staging, painting, minor cosmetic fixes, cleaning, etc. will typically result in a quicker sale for more money. Listen to the professionals who are trying to help you! =)
We'll be posting more pictures of this gorgeous home shortly.

"WOW..." is what our agent told us on the phone when she told us of the great news. We staged this property in the dead of winter (Dec 18). This was a FABULOUS property, that needed a little love. There were a few obstacles that the agent saw in her eyes such as mis-matched wood tones and a little bit of an akward layout. We addressed these "obstacles" and made them positives. This is another On Stage success story. Here are the photos:

Here's breaking news from The City of West Linn:
This Sunday provides a unique opportunity to be the first through the historic Willamette Falls Locks.
‘WILLAMETTE QUEEN’ TO BE FIRST VESSEL THROUGH WILLAMETTE FALLS LOCKS SINCE THEIR CLOSURE IN 2007
Having now completed the 1.3 million dollar hydraulic and steel structures inspection on the of the Willamette Falls Locks, the Army Corps of Engineers has agreed to accommodate the “Willamette Queen” later this month with a special passage through the Oregon City Locks for a required Coast Guard dry dock inspection in Portland. Departure from Salem is planned for Sunday January 31st at 9 am. Passengers will be allowed for the first time to remain on board the vessel as she passes through the seven lock chambers to descend the 52 feet around the Willamette Falls. This is truly a unique and memorable experience that few people ever get to enjoy.
As in previous downriver cruises between Salem and Portland, the “Willamette Queen” will be carrying passengers for the two day 85 mile downriver cruise and the two days back upriver to Salem 10 days later. Passengers can book one or more days. Each day will feature a continental breakfast, lunch and mid-day snacks. A Riverlorian will be aboard to point out and educate passengers on the many historical landmarks along this pristine stretch of river. Of particular interest are the spectacular mansions and their interesting owners as well as a wide variety of wildlife including eagles and deer. Binoculars and cameras are items to definitely pack with you.
Bus transportation will be provided at the end of each day for those passengers leaving the boat and needing a ride back to their automobile. For multiday passengers, reservations will be made at a hotel nearby to where the boat will be docked for the night.
The cost will be $75.00 per person for the first day and $50 for any additional days. Included in this price will be all food and transportation. Reservations are very limited for this rare and unique cruising experience to Portland and back. Call 503-371-1103 or email the Willamette Queen offices at wqsternwheeler@aol.com to make reservations.

The median list price in GLADSTONE,OR this week is $254,900. The 39 properties have been on the market
for an average of 146 days.
Inventory has been lightening lately and the Market Action Index has been trending up. Though days-on-market is increasing, these are mildly positive indications for the market.
Home sales have been exceeding new inventory for several weeks. Since this is a Buyer's market prices
are not yet moving higher as excess inventory is consumed. However, the as supply and demand trends
continue, the market moves into the Seller's zone, and we are likely to see upward pressure on pricing.

Prices continue their climb again this week. We're a long way from the market's price high-point so watch the Market Action Index as an indicator of how long this trend will last.

Inventory has been falling in recent weeks. Note that declining inventory alone does not signal a strengthening market. Look to the Market Action Index and Days on Market trends to gauge whether buyer interest is changing with the available supply.

If you'd like a detailed view of your city, just contact me and I'd love to give you some statistics!
