The Keizer Oregon real estate market has been one of the most stable markets in the Salem metro area for most of the year. While it has had it’s woes, really that market seems to have corrected for the most part.
Keizer Oregon real estate inventory
Inventory, which is an important statistic in the world of real estate, is a gauge of the supply and demand in an individual market. The more in line these are, the healthier that real estate market. You can see that the huge spike in inventory at the start of the year has steadily dropped and has hovered in the neutral market range for the past 3 months. I can’t honestly call a stable market or bottom until after the tax credit ends. I think that we need to see what the market can do on it’s own before calling a bottom, but it does appear to be stabilizing for now.

SALEM OREGON REAL ESTATE-WHAT A DIFFERENCE A "STAGE" MAKES-HOMESTAGING, THAT IS! SALEM OREGON HOME SELLERS, COULD STAGING BE THE ANSWER TO GET YOUR HOME SOLD? SEE THE BEFORE AND AFTER PICTURES FOR YOURSELVES..... AND YOU DECIDE
If you are currently a SALEM OREGON HOME SELLER, or thinking seriously about putting your home on the market, I am sure you are aware of the fact that in the current SALEM OREGON REAL ESTATE MARKET your home must be the best home, at the best price. There is competition all around you, and your home needs to stand out as the BEST HOME in that price range!
Now, I am going to fess up right now.... In the past, I have not been a huge fan of home staging because my listings sold within a short time after putting them on the market. The last couple of years have shown a huge shift in the LOCAL SALEM REAL ESTATE MARKET.
I recently had the opportunity to get to know a local home stager, Margaret Oscillia, of Creative Concepts and Contracting, through some local blogging and social networking classes. After several months of my many, numerous questions, and viewing her before and after photos and results once she staged a home, I decided that maybe there was something to this "staging stuff". I went ahead and booked her for two of my listings/sellers.
Here are some before and after pictures of one of my seller's homes. This home began as a vacant home, but the great thing about a home stager is that they have several different levels of staging. You can do a full stage, or a partial or minimal stage. You can also start off with a consultation to see what kind of suggestions they have that can bring you a "Top Dollar" offer. Many times they can work with your current furnishings, just making minimal changes, and adding a little "pop" to the rooms.

Salem has something new and fun going on! This year Creekside Golf Course Residents are enjoying a wild turkey they have named "Tom."
Tom the Turkey walks up and down the sidewalks completely clueless it is Thanksgiving. He is a nice addition to this community and I hope enjoyed by many during the next couple weeks.
Family Traditions are huge this time of year. Some families simply eat and drink too much and declare it a holiday. Some have a certain dish they eat that they secretly hate in the name of tradition. I would like to encourage you to mix up your routine and try something different.
Here are 10 easy family traditions for you to try:
1. Go for a quick bike ride, walk or run as a family.
2. Attend a Thanksgiving Eve Church Service. If you want to come with us, let me know. It is from 7:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday.
3. Donate $70 for a Salem family in need. This covers a hot Thanksgiving Day meal and Christmas Tree. Partial donations are also being accepted.
4. Cook the above meal if you have the gift of cooking. Email Emily Fitz or call her at 510-316-8470. Meals will be cooked in shifts at Richmond Elementary on Wednesday Noon to 10:00 PM.
5. Serve meals at your local homeless shelter.
6. Buy presents/school supplies for foster children. I pick up and deliver during the month of December!
7. Gather your family around a computer and surf the Plymouth Plantation website. You can pretend you are a Historian investigating the 1st Thanksgiving or even learn to talk like a pilgrim.
8. Pass out small pieces of paper at the dinner table. Ask everyone to write down 3 things they are grateful for and then take turns sharing them aloud.
9. Turn off the television and break out everyone's favorite board games.
10. Play Nerf or Wii football as a family.
Most importantly, do something different that brings joy to your family. If there is something that you have been doing that seems to be too much work, stop doing it! Families are meant to be together and happy so don't do anything that causes you stress or makes you cranky.
From my family to yours, "Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!"

Anyone who needs a community service idea or to buy or sell real estate can contact me at 503-945-0164 or my website.

So do you want the good news, the good news, or the good news first...
You pick the good news? Cool.
It's no secret to Salem Oregon real estate agents that October was busy. We all had to figure out how to get out of pajamas and actually write contracts last month.
The good news...median home price was down (I know I'm weird that I think that is good news)
The good news...Salem Oregon homes sales were up 31% over last October
The good news...the current home inventory as I write is 6.1 months for Salem Oregon.

This year we've had lots requests for fall and Thanksgiving decorating ideas. Ones that aren't just great looking BUT that can provide a festive look without a lot of work or expense.
Taking the time to creative a beautiful Thanksgiving atmosphere doesn't have to be expensive or require a lot of time and crafting expertise. Here's some great ideas we've found that we think you will enjoy too!

I love these pumpkins and candles with the added organic interest (lentils and beans!
Partner several of these candles or pumpkins with some colorful leaves, acorns or other natural elements for a beautiful fall tablescape! This project would be one my kids would enjoy helping create as well!
For step by step instructions on this project click here.
I think I'd like these best with some raffia, ric rac, or ribbon tied around the candles too.
Here's a simple and classy idea anyone can put together in minutes!
