Uniontown PA is located in Southwestern Pennsylvania approximately 50 miles Southeast of Pittsburgh. In the early part of the 20th century it was said that approximately 13 millionaires lived in Uniontown. Evidence of this are the many mansion style homes in Uniontown, many of which have been refurbished. This Memorial is especially beautiful in the spring and summer months. General George C Marshall was born in Uniontown PA on December 31, 1880. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1953 for his Marshall Plan which helped rebuild Europe after World War II.
