The Big Game is over and we are all winners! It's Monday morning and Super Bowl XLII has entered the history books with the underdog New York Giants winning over the New England Patriots 21-17. However, as compared to many past Super Bowls, the game remained competitive, so football fans were rewarded with an entertainng game and advertisers, especially those who risked late game tv spots, should have been rewarded with enough viewers to justify their investment. NBC found a way to market the Super Bowl for the entire weekend, so certainly they are happy with themselves this morning as well.
The Big Game is over and we are all winners!
Surely the New York Giants are happy with the performance of their team, their MVP Quarterback Eli Manning and their much maligned veteran coach Tom Coughlan. They pulled off something that seemed impossible as late as December. The New England Patriots won hearts and minds all season as they rallied around their owner during the illness and the subsequent passing of his beloved wife Mrs. Myra Kraft.
The Big Game is over and we are all winners!
Professional football is a business, and a very successful one at that, but individual teams can still retain the feeling of a family and the story of Bob Kraft and the Patriots was touching and added a surprising human element to a team that is seen as a juggernaut - at least in my home.
The Big Game is over and we are all winners!
I believe the biggest winners this morning are the city of Indianapolis and the state of Indiana. Prior to last week, the economic multipliers for Super Bowl XLII were estimated between $300-$400 million. Beyond the economic impact, the positive impression of a beautiful midwestern city that works is priceless. As REALTORS, we understand the value of good publicity for our cities, towns and neighborhoods. In fact, we depend on it to sell our product.
The Big Game is over and we are all winners! With the end of the football season, the best news is that Spring can't be far behind!

Toys for Tots Campaign coming to a close
The Weidel Yardley/Newtown office was a drop-off site for Toys for Tots this year, for the first time. What a wonderful experience. The box was placed in our lobby, and allowed access 24 hours a day - at least for the tenants. We share the Historic Grist Mill with a handful of companies, a yoga studio and a separate karate studio. We also share the parking lot(s) with a bank, bakery, pharmacy and a restaurant.
With so may local businesses hosting Toys for Tots sites, we weren't sure how successful our toys collection would be. Turns out, we worried unnecessarily. Yoga and karate customers, employees in our building, our own Weidel Realtors and staff and the Yardley community all found their way to our donation box.
Toys for Tots got a late start in our area this year, but I am hopeful fora strong finish. There are so mamy children in need.
For me, having the Toys for Tots box in our lobby was a wonderful reminder of the true meaning of Christmas. Remembering those in need and acting to make a stranger's Christmas brighter is what it's all about.
Thanks to all of our generous contributors. May your holidays be filled with food, fun and family.
