Columbia, SC Richland County Treasury Delinquent Tax Sale
Tough economic times are certainly hitting a larger number of homeowners in the midlands where it hurts because I have not seen the list of delinquent taxes on residences this long before.
On Monday, December 7, the Richland County Treasury will sell to the highest bidders over 3,800 homes. This is up from over 3,300 last year.
All homes will be auctioned off as-is for cash at the Richland County Council Chambers location at 2020 Hampton Street in Columbia. The auction starts at 10 am and will carry forward daily until all homes are sold.
The properties will be auctioned off in alphabetical order according to the owner's last name. Properties and details of the sale can be viewed at www.rcgov.us.
Bidders need to pre-register at the Treasurer's office and pay the $10.00 fee. All bidders must be registered and their fee paid or they will not be allowed in the doors.
Be very careful. The purchaser of property at a tax sale acquires the title without warranty and buys at their own risk. It is recommended that the property be viewed prior to bidding.
