Complementing Georgetown Texas's historic downtown district is the newly opened Wolf Ranch Shopping Center close to downtown at the interesection of IH35 and Highway 29.

Featuring at least 40 retail stores and restaurants, along with 11 large anchor retail businesses, this open air mall is a favorite shopping area for the entire county.
Owned by the Simon Property Group and developed under the City of Georgetown Unified Development Code the buidings replicate the small town feel of a past age.
The center was built on the site of the ranch owned and operated for years by Jay Wolf, hence the name Wolf Ranch Shopping Center. The developers protected many of the century old trees and even incorporated them into the parking plan and the building sites.
Care was taken to integrate the parking and preserve the trees and even add green spaces
When was the last time you were able to take a wooded hiking path back to your parked car?
One of my favorite places is the outdoor patio area between the Fish City Grill and The Cotton Patch Restaurant. It's a perfect place to enjoy a drink and take in the spectacular view of the sunset.
The sculpture is as inspiring as the sunset.
I hope you enjoy your shopping experience as much as we do! One of the greatest features of Georgetown Texas is it's beautiful San Gabriel Park, the keystone of Georgetown's extensive park system.
The park is near the center of town and occupies the original river crossing and sacred campground used by the native American Indians. There are centuries old live oak trees that the Indians tied down as saplings to mark the trail.
Park amenities include a Gazebo for Events
hiking trails, softball and baseball diamonds, a rodeo arena, many soccer fields, disc golf course, playgrounds and more.
Of course nothiing is more fun than just meeting friends and family at the park and enjoying grilled hot dogs.
afterwards you can feed the ducks or take a bike ride to work off all those calories
Nothing is more relaxing than to spend the day in Georgetown's San Gabriel Park
I hope you enjoy the pictures. To view more pictures and read about Georgetown Texas and the interesting history or to learn more about the area plese visit my other blog entries. Or you can visit the City of Georgetown Parks link to learn more about our great park system.

The House today and the Senate yesterday passed legislation to extend the $8,000 home buyer tax credit to May 1, 2010, for first-time buyers and add a $6,500 tax credit for repeat buyers if they've lived in their home for five of the past eight years. Home prices are capped at $800,000.
The legislation in both houses was included in a bill to extend unemployment benefits and is expected to be signed by President Obama shortly.
"REALTORS® appreciate the swift action by Congress to extend the home buyer tax credit and expand it to some current homeowners," says NAR President Charles McMillan. "As the leading advocate of housing and real estate issues, we urge President Obama to sign this legislation into law quickly to keep the momentum going in the fragile recovery of the nation's housing market."
Under the bill, income limits are expanded to $125,000 for individuals and $225,000 for joint filers. Individuals with incomes up to $145,000 and joint filers with incomes up to $245,000 qualify for reduced credits.
Households who have binding contracts in place by April 30 will be allowed an additional 60 days to complete their transaction. The deadline for members of the military serving out the U.S. for at least 90 days between Jan. 1, 2009, and May 1, 2010, has been extended one year.
Taxpayers can claim the credit on their federal income tax returns. If the credit exceeds their tax bill, the government will issue a check. Taxpayers will be able to claim the credit on their 2009 income tax return for purchases made in 2010.
