I'm not sure just how much many of you understand about the devastation of our 2011 drought. It's certainly not your fault and that's not what I'm saying...it's just that when an earthquake hits a part of the world we feel terrible yet still cannot understand the level of devastation.
My husband and I are attempting to sell a home in Huntsville Texas on 3.83 acres that was absolutely gorgeous. Flowers, trees, shrubs, green grass, beautiful blue water in the pond and lush and healthy trees and landscaping.
Examples:
Pretty, huh?
My trees are dieing one by one. The pond is down to barely a foot of water. The fountain is sitting in mud. The grass is all dead with a crackle to it with every step. Huge trees have gone brown and I can only hope they will be back at some point. My heart is breaking with each and every day of heat and dry weather.
I just checked the weather and there is a little bit of hope! Come on Rain~Come on Rain~come on rain!!!
By the way, would you like to buy this property? With care and rain it will be beautiful again.
I am on my knees! Come on Rain! Come and get us!

Okay, I can't help it. I am a porch fanatic. We drove our Realtor nuts looking for the house with porches. I wanted a covered place to sit out when it rained. That's what my Mom and I did for years. It was the best. It's so peaceful--get the fans going, a good game of sudoku, or a good conversation, or just sitting and rocking.
I wanted porches--I got porches. Life is good when you read the Sunday paper and have a cup of coffee on the porch. It's also good for:
Sunset Watchin'
Coffee Drinkin'
Conversatin'
Chillin'
Sudoku Playin'
Wine sippin'
Neighbor Visitin'
.......and Rain Watchin'
There's so much more to it, isn't there? It's a throwback to the "old days." It just feels right.
What are your Favorite "Porch Settin' Activities?"

I still can't get enough of it. Real Estate...That is. So intriguing, so very cool. Helping people find the right home and helping others to sell to be able to move on to the next chapter in their lives is so rewarding. I cannot imagine a more consistently rewarding career. This is not to say that I don't miss my goobers (my former students----voice and choir) terribly, because I do. They are amazing young people (getting less young every day like the rest of us) and will always have a deeply rooted place in my heart.

Real Estate is a new adventure every day, a new scene, a fresh outlook. I feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I get to see 1st time homebuyers smile when they realize they get to "set up house" and make a home, I get to help folks to downsize when the kids are gone and it's just the two of them again...and so much more! I have the privilege of helping and being involved with people's lives in a positive way. What more can you ask?
I get to research, study, compare, contrast, negotiate, counsel, console, cheer, laugh, hug. Pretty cool, huh?! I am a Realtor. I am a HAPPY Realtor. I am "YourSingingRealtor.com"

I love Baseball Season and everyhting it means....Springtime, flowers, green grass, sunshine glinting on the water and foliage. Ahhhh....Springtime, and baseball. I am a Texas Rangers Fan. Growing up I was a Phillies fan and hopelessly in love with shortstop Larry Bowa. Not, it's the Rangers. Michael Young, Josh Hamilton, and now Vlad Guerrero. Yep..Vlad..."If you can't beat 'em, sign 'em!"
Vlad was an out 'n out "Ranger Killer." He has the Ranger Stadium all time best batting average. He was a great "get." Baseball is so much fun (well, relaxing) to watch. It's not jam packed action--the game goes at a pace that actually helps you to slow down and "chill." And the Texas Rangers have the absolute BEST announcers. They are so easy to listen to and interesting. Very easy going and very real people, not a phony bone in either Josh or Tag. (Josh Lewin and Tom Grieve "Tag")
You know, we put in some long days as Realtors. At the end of a long one, curling up on the couch with a glass of wine and a baseball game has to be one of the all time best ways to unwind. If you're not a fan...try it. Baseball ROCKS!
