I've now lived in Manor, Texas for 3 years and when I tell people where I live, I often get a confused look in response and one of the following questions: "Where is Manor?" or "Isn't that really far out of town?" or "Oh, I think I've driven through there on the way to Houston". No, it's not far out of town and yes, you probably have driven through it on your way to Houston. I know Manor isn't that big yet (about 5,800 people), but it's growing fast and I think everyone that lives in the Austin area needs to know about Manor.
Let's start with the location:
Manor offers affordable homes compared to Austin and a shorter, less stressful commute than most of the surrounding towns (have you experienced the traffic on 183 heading towards Cedar Park, I-35 North to Round Rock, or I-35 South to Buda/Kyle lately?). There are a number of newer neighborhoods that offer beautiful construction at affordable prices with excellent amenities (check out the 4 acre water park in ShadowGlen).
Manor ISD is one of the fastest growing school districts in all of Texas and as a result has opened at least one brand new school every year for the past few years. With top-notch facilities, an excellent Superintendent, and a progressive approach to education (check out the Recognized New Tech High School), Manor ISD is poised to be one of the leading school districts in Central Texas.
Manor has grown a lot since I moved here in 2006 and it will continue to grow. It's great to experience the sense of community of a small town, but still have easy access to everything in Austin. The growth of Austin is moving east and now is a great time to move into Manor to enjoy all that this small Texas town has to offer!

With limited time left on the First-Time Homebuyers $8,000 Tax Credit, I've noticed that more & more buyers are starting to take a look at their options. One such option that should be considered is the wonderful community of ShadowGlen.
ShadowGlen is an award-winning master planned community northeast of Austin in the city of Manor. The subdivision is conveniently located near major employers, like Samsung, and has easy access to other employers in Downtown Austin and North Austin. Because of this, I notice that many buyers that are looking in North Austin, Pflugerville & Round Rock also choose to look for homes in ShadowGlen.
ShadowGlen has terrific amenities for its residents. It has a challenging golf course, an Olympic-sized pool, huge water slides, playground, club house & walking/jogging trails. I've found that many of my clients that live in ShadowGlen love staying in ShadowGlen because of the many amenities and the great community feel they get by living in ShadowGlen.
This is a relatively new community (they started building in 2004) and there are still many homes left to be built. But, there are many resale homes for buyers to choose from as well. I say this is a great community for first-time homebuyers because it is still so decently priced. You will be amazed at what your money can get you in this beautiful community!
The clock is ticking & time is running out to take advantage of the $8,000 Tax Credit, so be sure to put ShadowGlen on your list of communities to check out TODAY!

Today was a good day. I had phone duty from 10-12 this morning. I picked up a potential buyer and just as I was about to leave at noon, another call came in. The receptionist indicated that it was for me so I thought it was a random call. Was I surprised. It was someone who found me on Active Rain regarding my Short Sale success. I got all the information necessary and we began talking via e-mail. Midway through the afternoon, the client realized I was answering via my blackberry and sent me her PIN. For the rest of the day we talked PIN to PIN. I will be listing her home tomorrow evening right after she gets home from work. I already sent her my list of documents I need from her. Tonight she sent a message that she will have everything ready for me by tomorrow evening. The dream client!!!
This will be my first actual real lead from Active Rain. I feel like I need to pinch myself. I will post more after tomorrow evenings appointment. I am pumped.
Thank you Active Rain!!!
