I was compelled to drive just a tad toward Frisco, TX the other day and found myself in a small-but quickly growing, clean, quaint, accessible, newly constructed town called Prosper, TX. A community in which I found myself drawn to was the Lakes of La Cima, located a bit east of Preston Rd. on the north side of Hwy 380. Lakes of La Cima incorporates multiple builders that focus on a price range of the mid $200's to $500's....and you can really get a big bang for your buck. I was specifically impressed with Meritage Homes and have been a follower of their product and incredibly low price/sq.ft. against their competition for some time now, and the Meritage Homes products at Lakes of La Cima is for sure no exception.
The Meritage model home, the Tennyson plan, is architecturally intriguing and offers many wow factors that the buyer of today will appreciate and also the buyer of tomorrow. Some of those design items to highlight are open and elevated library at mid stairs, owners suite with comfortable sitting area, open entry with high ceilings, 3 car garage, appealing elevation with high roof pitch and copper metal roof, roman arched columns hinting room separations, open to below catwalks, exercise room off of master closet, upper and lower level covered patios, huge 21x12 media room and highly-demanded open kitchen with floating island open to the family room for Texas style entertainment. The Tennyson plan boasts over 4800 well thought out and organized square feet to meet the typical North Texan demands of 5 bedroom, 3 car garage, covered patio, study, loft, media, gameroom mecca. The Pros: You get a lot of house for the money on a good sized lot, great school district, and clean neighborhood appeal with lots of amenities.
The Cons: You are a good 15 minute drive from your closest Super Target and general needs. With Prosper's growth and infrastructure on Hwy 380, however, commercial build out should be on the way very soon though…so invest now before the major commercial growth hits, which is what will drive prices up!
