A few years ago I had the privilege of meeting my husbands sixth grade teacher. She was Joann Wunderlich.

As this group of Klein High School graduates from years ago met repeatedly to put together a class reunion, we met with one dynamic, high spirited lady who had successfully taught them all about the English language. She not only taught them how to use the language to communicate, she instilled a love for reading too.

One of the first things I noticed about this gracious lady was her ability to make everyone feel accepted. She also showed great caring for the people that each of us are.

We celebrated her often as a group of us would take her to lunch on many occasions. Each lunch brought us all closer as she acted as a catalyst. Loving Joann was just plain easy.

A couple of weeks ago she sent an email telling us she would be out of touch for a while.

She was checking into the hospital for a heart valve replacement. Friday we heard that she was home and doing well...

Today we found that she took a turn for the worst on Saturday and returned to the hospital.

Sometime yesterday, Joann went home to be with our Lord. That great big heart had apparently gotten tired.

We all know people who leave deep impressions on us. Joann was one of those. She left each person she came across a little better for having known her. Many of my husbands classmates literally can attribute the who they became to her influence.

What a beautiful legacy she has left!

We are sure that somewhere over the balcony between this world and the next, there is a loving, feisty lady correcting grammar and installing love.

We were lucky to have her in our lives!

Tomball Business and Professional Women's 3rd Annual Garden Party and Style Show!

Sunday, April 15th from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at 30331 Winfro Drive, Tomball, Texas 77375.

Proceeds from this event will help to provide scholarships to local youth, and, one scholarship will be given to a woman in our community in need of continuing education.

Ticket cost is $35.00. Along with the benefit of the proceeds going to help local scholarships the event itself will be a showcase of current fashions from local Tomball retailers. These retailers include; Dahlia's Boutique, Foxworthy's, Mas Boutique, Clean by Troy Garza & Aidan Grace Boutique.

Lunch and desserts will be provided by Nona's Italian Grill and It's Yummy will provide desserts. The complimentary Mimosa fountain can't be missed.

In addition to everything mentioned, there will also be a Chinese and Live Auction and a Kentucky Derby Style Hat Contest.

I found some beautiful ducks in Tomball the other day. They were at their own small lake.

I think they think I have food with me today, but I wasn't prepared. Sorry ducks, maybe next time.

I like this shot, I can see the reflection of the duck's neck in the water, yet I can also see his foot under the water.

Look at the color of the feathers on this duck. I must have been at just the right angle to get the color to come out such a light blue hue. The water is very clear here, you can see the tree roots.

The Sky Is On Fire -- Awesome Sunset in Tomball, Texas!

I happened to look out the window last Thursday 1/12/12 and noticed this spectacular sunset. It looked like the sky was on fire.

The reflection from the clouds was just beautiful. It almost looked like lava.
