About Fort Bend County, TX

Finally there is a sidewalk connecting the neighborhoods of New Territory and Telfair. This project was suppose to cost upwards of $75,000. But, luckily Newland Communities, Sprint Waste Mgmt and the Levee improvement district all chipped in 25% of the cost. This left New Territory(NTRCA) only having to come up with the other 25% of the final cost. Why is this sidewalk such a big deal:

1. Telfair middle school students can travel safely to Sartartia Middle School
2. Runners do not need to run in the street. Which is much safer.
3. The same for bike riders
4. New Territory residents can walk to the Houston Museum in Telfair

It may not seem like a huge deal. But, this sidewalk now connects two beautiful neighborhoods.

In 2009 Sugar Land greatly improved. Some of the accomplishments in 2009 include:

1. RiverPark sub division became part of Sugar Land. This included the addition of 3,592 residents to Sugar Land.
2. Minute Maid moved it's corporate headquarters to Sugar Land.
3. A dog park was opened at Sugar Land Memorial Park. And the Justin P. Brindley Trail was opened, located on University Blvd.
4. Sugar land received it's own branch of the Houston Museum of Natural Science. It is located in the heart of Telfair, just off 59.

And now lets talk about the national attention Sugar Land has gotten:

1. Sugar land was ranked among the top 25 towns in "top towns to Live Well" by Forbes magazine
2. Sugar Land was named the top city for a Startup Business in Texas by Business Week.

As I have pointed out above, Sugar Land is a wonderful place to live. And has proven this again in 2009.

Seven Meadows continued to thrive in 2009. The addition of more-high end dining and shopping to the area can only further enhance the market.

Between October and December 2009, 96 homes have closed in Seven Meadows. The average home was only on the market for 60 days and sold $333,000 or about $102 per square foot. The average home was 3235 square foot.

Home sold from about $165,000 to over $700,000. Seven Meadows continues to hold values and thrive despite the tough national economy.
