I am noticing that the more I post on AR, the more I show up on Google. Isn't technology wonderful!! It makes me wonder, how did real estate agents buy/sell homes when we did not have computers and the internet? I can't imagine how that would have been.
Example: Today my client and I went to see a home for the second time. She still liked it and wanted to make an offer. Her husband is traveling 1500 miles away and wanted to know if that was going to be an issue. She went home with the kids and I went to the office. I wrote up the offer, emailed it to the husband, he signed, scanned and emailed it to his wife who in turn signed and faxed it to me and I sent it off the Listing agent. We did all that in about 45 Minutes on a cold snowy Saturday afternoon.
I love this Job!

There was also supposed to be a bar opening in SoDa Row, but South Jordan put a block on that one (at least that is my understanding). It is not completely dead, but they do need to hook up with a restaurant before they can get the go ahead.

If you live on the west side of the Salt Lake Valley you will be interested to hear that the Mountain View Corridor has been given the go ahead.

For the first phase they have been allocated $500 million, which they will use to construct a two lane highway (two lanes either way), with a speed limit of 45 mph and signalized intersections. Initially the road will be constructed between 9000 south and Redwood Road in Salt Lake County and between 2100 north and I-15 in Utah County.
This may sound like a cop out, but the idea is that when further funding is available the intersections will be converted into interchanges, and additional lanes added to make it a fully fledged freeway.
I believe this is a good idea, as long as the additional funding does become available. The west side does not currently need a major freeway, but will do in the future. The way it has been planned provides a balance between current needs and available funds.
In addition to the normal traffic lanes there are also plans for dedicated transit lanes, where bus, street car or light rail could run. At the moment there are no firm plans for the exact type of transit to be used in these lanes.

Cafe' Marmalade
A Great Community Gem in the MarmaladeWard District in Salt Lake City, Cafe' Marmalade. Few communities today have the charm and community feel of yester-years. The Marmalade Hill Historic District , west of the State Capital, is charming with original small
Victorian homes, streets named after fruit trees, corner markets, white picket fences, neighborhood cafes' and a real sense of community. It is an eclectic grouping of unique properties as interesting as the people that live there. A land mark and center of the community is the Marmalade Ward, once a Mormon Chapel, on the Historical register, with Onion top steeples influenced by the original residence, many from Russia. The Marmalade Ward today houses the Salt Lake Acting company which I will feature in a future blog.
Another great center of the community is Cafe Marmalade, a gathering place for the neighborhood. Kim
Boekholder and DebbieAldrich 801-870-0606 have been working in this little niche' of Salt Lake City and have made it a point to get to know the community, becoming a source of information as to what is going on in the Marmalade district. We make a regular stop at Cafe Marmalade ordering their famous Latte called the White Rhino, I don't know what's in it but it's sooooo good!! We have come to know the proprietor Kim Paulus, always friendly, and a fan to her clients. There isn't a time that we have stopped by that it isn't filled with people enjoying the many wonderful things on her menu, lively with conversation, lingering in a great atmosphere.
We are so happy to have become a part of this great community and a source of information about businesses , events, and the Real Estate Market in the Marmalade
District. Come join the fun and visit Cafe Marmalade in Salt Lake City, UT : Live Music, you'll come back for more!!
