It is very simple why most of my clients chose DuPont over other areas, small town atmosphere vs. urban sprawl.
The town of DuPont is not new by any means. It started as a company town with just a few houses, a butcher shop and a hotel, built by explosives manufacturer E.I du Pont de Nemours Co. in 1906 to house the workers at the explosives plant. The workers bought their homes in 1951, at which time the town was incorporated.
In the early 1990s a vision for a new DuPont Washington was in the planning stages. In 1994 the first development broke ground of what would be called NW Landing. The planners wanted a small town atmosphere with tree-lined streets and distinctive Craftsman-style architecture. They succeeded with an award winning 3,200-acre mixed use planned community. My clients love the ability to walk or bike to local restaurants, coffee shops or commute to work at such places such as Fort Lewis, Intel, or State Farm Insurance among a handful of other businesses.
Quality of life is so very important to people who have orders to transfer into the area.
I have represented over 37 home buyers and sellers since 1999 that purchased homes in DuPont Washington, none have regretted the decision.

$8000 reasons to buy a foreclosure in Northwest Landing, DuPont WA
There are a lot of reasons a Soldier would want to live in DuPont Washington. This is a soldiers story; the reason he and his family decided it would be DuPont or nothing. They found $8,000 reasons to buy a foreclosure.
When I first met the Soldier in this story I was sitting an open house in the community of Northwest Landing, DuPont Washington. I could see it in his eyes, he wanted a home for his family. After we talked a while I realized he wanted a lot of house for the money. Since I was very familiar with the market in DuPont and not sure we could meet his financial goals; I tried to see if maybe he might consider going a little further south to Lacey Washington. I explained; in Lacey you might be able to get more for your money. The answer was a definite NO!! I will compromise on lots of things but DuPont is not one of them. I want to buy a house in DuPont. Well he bought that house, and by the time we were done he had $8,000 reasons to buy a foreclosure.
If you are considering living in DuPont their are a lot of places to find statistical data. So I am writing this blog to give you something more. In this video, you will see the face of the soldier and his family, hear it in their own words the $8,000 reasons to buy a foreclosure. If you were to do research on DuPont you will find out about the great schools.
Great neighborhood parks, pretty tree lined streets, and a kid friendly community; but you might not see the $8000 reasons to buy a foreclosure. Take a look at the face of the Solider, hear from him in his own words how as a first time home buyer he was able to maneuver through the home buying system and come out a winner.
Not only did he get a home, he has already received his $8000 reasons to buy a foreclosure. Yes that was in the form of a check. On the video you will hear when he received it, and how he spent it. The $8,000 tax credit is another word for $8,000 cash in your pocket.

You might have heard that this tax credit would be ending the end of November; that is true. However, the House of Representatives has voted to extend the first time home buyers tax credit bill HR3950 to extend the credit to active military personnel. The bill will now go to the Senate and is expected to pass. Take a look at the video in this blog, see for yourself, $8000 reasons to buy a foreclosure.
DuPont Washington is one of my favorite places. I love showing it off. Give me a call and I will be glad to show you some great homes in Northwest Landing, and some great buys. Specializing in Bank Owned homes and Short Sales.
